Well, I said i'd tell my story when I get back so here we go...

Friday Night, Mr.Juicy messages me. Hey mikey, want a new sys? I'm like surrre, why not... 21051, new on the block.

Whatever, I take it.

Start working on it, easily flash the rom, everything looks great. Test out voice command, doesn't work, test out bluetooth, doesn't work.

Well okay, lets get to work. Anyways, start swapping packages, could not get this mofo to work what so ever... It's around 2am+ by that time, I decide to call it a night.

Saturday rolls around, 1PM hits, I start working on the rom again.

Download a new 21051 source, load it up... Install some cabs. Well here's problem number 2.

New programs installed, the icon in the programs menu just constantly flickers like it's having a seizure.

I ripped apart my ENTIRE oem... Replaced EVERYTHING... Lets just say.... 8PM rolls around without ANY breaks.... Issue still not resolved.

Besides those issues the rom was running great btw. At this time i've spent what??? about 11 hours on this SYS.

Watched the detroit game on saturday night, great they won. 1am rolls around played with the sys until 2. said F**** it, went to bed.

Sunday rolls around, I decide ... ARGHHH Lets go at it again... Rip apart my oem ONCE MORE...

FINALLY 3 HOURS LATER!!! I FIND THE CULPRIT!...

cachefilt.dll was causing the program icons to flicker like a mad man... What does cachefilt.dll do? Don't ask, lets just say it doesn't exist in the rom anymore.

On a side note, Thanks to Juicy, Ghetto, Silence, JMZ, Psyki for ALLLLL giving me suggestions on what to try lol...

Has anyone noticed any slowdown on the SD Card writes since the file system cache driver has been removed? Haven't installed yet since my replacement phone's at work, but wanted to know if the removal of cachefilt.dll has had any side effect.

Sorry guys kinda noob still but have flashed before. What the file is an .EXE file? isnt it supposed to be a rar file with a nbh file in there too?

It is a self extracting .exe

You can easily right click on the .exe and extract to a folder to see your nbh file
