I use MS MyPhone to backup my texts. Only issue I have had with that is when restoring it occasionally gets the order in the threaded view wrong

i get the same problem with pim backup so i figure it's probably best not to mess with it for now til this bs blows over

pim backup always gave me problems, my suggestion is not to backup text messages unless you need to, this causes lag in the messaging app, as the texts start to build up causing it to sometimes send two. I had that happen to me a lot until i found out it was pim backup.
Also i would suggest you move to my phone much better! and it will auto sync any new changes, when ever you set it too, i have mine every night at 12!
