Going to try new ROM, any advice

OK, here's the deal. I'm running an HTC Touch Pro on Cricket's network. I'm using a ROM that Drunk from HOFO crated (thanks!!!). I manually programmed the phone in epst as well as the registry and loaded a cricket PRL. I have everything working - exchange email through my company, sms, mms, wap. Everything is great except battery life (oh and don't get me started on gmail, lol). I'd like to check out a few other ROMs to compare battery life. I don't need help flashing or anything - I used the SD card method and will continue to do that.

What my main question is - considering that everything is currently working, what am I going to break by flashing to another ROM?

TIA for any help!

It will reset the device to basically talk/text for cricket so you'll have to re-do all your wap and mms settings as well as re set up email and what ever else you had to set up right after you turned your touch pro into a cricket phone.

Re: Going to try new ROM, any advice

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. That's kind of what I thought might happen. As long as talk/text works directly after a flash then I'm good becuase it might take me a day or two to find the time to get everything else working. I'm really wishing I had taken the time to make notes of all the steps I took to get the phone fully functional on cricket the first time I did it. This time I plan on finding all the helpful threads I've read here at ppcgeeks and howardforums and compiling the pertinent info (to me at least) into a word doc to save for future use. That way if I flash from one ROM to another I can just follow my personalized step-by-step document and get up & running without missing anything.

Re: Going to try new ROM, any advice

there are programs like shasami? that will re-input alot of the steps..I've never used it and not real sure if it will re-do the wap and stuff but from the things i've read it just might.. wont hurt to look into it if you plan on flashing often and seeing exactly what it can and cant do.. if it will re-do all the settings let me know and maybe i'll flash often as well lol
