What's the default pagepool with this rom? Specifically v1.6a titanium? (which I assume is the same as the tf3d one)

Also, the link for v1.6 is broken. (btw what's the difference between the 1.6 and the 2 1.6a's?

default pp is 24 but i always use 16. diff btn 1.6 n 1.6a's is that it has fixes n stuff but read first post n you'll see

FYI EVERYONE: Whoever is having the TF3D problems here is what I did and now things are perfect!!! Just download THE COMPLETE xboxmod manilla v1D{i think theres 5 cabs totalF right to your device, it installs over the manilla cooked into the rom and now everything is perfect, contacts works perfect and TF3D doesnt crash at all

I assume the changelog for 1.6a is the stuff between the screen shots and the actual changelog. I don't know why I didn't assume that earlier, guess I just had a brain fart.


Although you may be right, and a 16mb pagepool may be best with this rom, I always use (and recommend) a 24mb pagepool (at least with non-verizon tps). Yes you sacrifice a little ram (which I think we have more than enough of, especially with a WM 6.5 rom), but you gain extra speed. Ram is only good up to a point, and since we are no longer ram deficient (Moguls), the benefit of speed far outweighs the incremental gain in ram. What good is all the ram if your system is slower to respond?

Anyways, a friend and I have actually tested this on the Copper rom, which is 16mb by default. We found changing it to 24mb made the rom even faster.

Do you just use a 16mb pagepool just because others have suggested it in general? Or:
Have you done actual pagepool testing with this rom?
What's your reasoning behind using a 16mb pp?

I just don't think the extra ram you get from a lower pp is worth the loss in speed. I might eventually play around with it on this rom, but I am a fan of 24mb.

I tried out this ROM for the first time on Monday. I had a few issues, but I liked this ROM better than any of the other more popular ones or ones I had cooked myself using PPCK.

I got a text message from my boss (also a TP owner. He sold me the Apache that got me into WM) about the new release of this ROM... I was excited.

I've had a few problems with this release.

1) trying to open a text message from TF3D2 shows the new style messaging screen, but with nothing. The details section is all messed up. According to that screen, my GF is 408 years old and her work number is "y"
2) TF3D2 has been crashing pretty consistently after about 30 seconds of use. I even got to the point where I got an error on my today screen about how TF couldn't be loaded.
3) there was something else that wasn't working properly, but i can't remember it.

EDIT:
4) pressing the flipclock no longer loads gAlarm, it opens the call history and then locks up.

I will be reverting back to the previous 1.6 version.

OK FOR PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TF3D PLEASE READ: sarman knows about the problems and is fixong. In the meantime just go to xda and download the FULL MANILA v1D and install ALL cab EXCEPT #5 which is for program icons and will screw up some programs, but as I was saying, install the full manilla AND CDMA FIX cab also, right over the cooked in manila and everything will run fine.

Starman - Running 1.6a now w/Titanium and Mobile Shell 3... Played around with it a bit last night before sleep and it ran great. Now, have it all set up for the first full day of work, so I will let you know at the end of the day.

For those of you that have tried Mobile Shell and like it, this 1.6a w/Titanium looks to be the best ROM to run it on. Graphics and animation are smooth, You Tube looks excellent, and the phone seems to run great.

How: See the pagepool application in the ROM download. Use it to open the main large ROM file. It will show what the current pagepool setting is and can be used to apply a different one if desired.

Why: TF3D works best with a larger pagepool size like 24MB. (People who claim Juicy 7 is slow probably were not using a 24MB pagepool, but 16MB which is the default setting on that ROM.) WM 6.5's Titanium interface does not need as much in resources, so if someone is not using TF3D they probably should use a 16MB pagepool. Got it from a pretty reliable source and found it to be true in my own use of various ROMs :) .

The lower the pagepool setting, the more program memory you will have free for use with other applications that you run.

Great so far!!!! Performance and available memory is incredible....

I fixed my "missing taskbar" issue by search, however I am still unsure about the volume control. So we can get seperate volume control, but they will reset and merge again after soft reset, correct?

For example at night I want to listen to music but keep my ringer off... Any suggestions? Best Regards,

Edit: My volume seems to have split. I installed the 6.5 taskbar, I wonder if that did it? I have the notifications issue I read about, not always popping up. Installing the Rhodium notifications cab is the fix for this, correct?

I've tried Mobile Shell 3.0 and can't get the colors to change under themes. Had to uninstall it due to me hating the color purple and not being able to change it. :( Any fix for that?

I haven't had the time to really dive into all the different things one can do with MS3, but I am compiling a list of threads, placed to go to look up the different ways to customize.

As for the color, all I did was go into the settings for 'Today' and change the theme to HTC Black. That took care of all the screens except on the 'lifestyle' tab. To change that, hit the icon in the bottom right corner, and choose 'change background' once there you should see a few different options.

There are a bunch of sites with 'wallpaper' downloads that I believe go into this area. Check out the forum for PPC Themes, and I believe there is a sticky with SpbMS wallpapers.

For boost in performance I strongly recommend installing the GFXBoost service. In some ROMS it doesn't work, but it really works nicely in the this 1.6A ROM. You can really see it by opening up Opera and scrolling around. Switch the service off and on while keeping the opera running, you see the smoother scrolling, glass like scrolling with GFXBoost enabled.

I just flashed the 1.6a titanium only edition and it really gave me a ton of problems. I wasn't able to change backgrounds, moving the Titanium slider bar would corrupt everything it touched. I also really dislike S2U2 :(. I'm gonna try the Manilla 1.6a and see what happens...

Damn, I hate that I have to say that I am going back to 1.5 (if I can find it). Themes don't work with Titanium, I dislike S2U2, lots of other little annoyances. 1.5 was so close to perfect....

How can you not like S2U2. It's the simplest, sweetest app around. You can disable it with a single click of the paddle lock icon in the S2U2 folder if you really don't want it running.

I've never liked it. Always had issues with it and it wasn't worth the hassle. I think the 6.5 locking screen with the slider is the best current locking option.

Can anyone post a mirror to 1.5? I deleted it from my computer and the link in he first post is dead. I'm flashing other ROMs and they're all pretty much universally terrible when compared to StarROM 1.5.

Anybody else having issues with the Youtube player with 1.6a? Most of the time, it will fail to play any video with an error "Cannot play this video". Every once in a while, the video will play but no audio.

Hmmm..... I'm missing calls and emails because the phone doesn't ring or vibrate. Anyone know what's causing this? I have my notifications set to sound and vibrate.

Yes, I'm having this issue as well. It's very intermittent. Sometimes soft reset fixes it, other times no.

I really love the speed of this ROM, but the missed calls/emals along with some of these other bugs are just a bit too much to handle. Hopefully we can get these issue resolved as I really want to keep this ROM for the performance and features.

This rom is really speedy and well performing, but tf3d is seriously broken in this version, thats my only gripe.

I really hope there will be an update that fixes it.

Starmans - Full day in the field and just a few glitches to report. The ROM performed great today, battery life was good too.

Glitches:
HTC Calculator does not work... says the program can not be found.
Not sure why, but after a bit of heavy traffic with emails and SMS, the top area where 'start' is got jumbled. Nothing major, but it wasn't pure black, kept changing to grey and with lines.
At one point in the afternoon, S2U2 would not go back to portrait from landscape.

Soft reset fixed the visual glitches... obviously the calculator is probably just missing something.

Great ROM... will post more if something big comes up.

The v1b cab posted yesterday I think fixed everything in tf3d for me. Other then that and the Youtube issue that someone has just brought up I don't seem to have any real problems.

Did everyone hard reset after flashing?

Hey Starmans, Your Rom is Very Nice working great for me.., Just a side note Im on sprint and tried 12 page pool messin around and it runs great!! Tf3d very fast!! Any way is there any way to get my ^- checkmark back in top right of my screen, when I installed Tf3d2 on my own in other roms, if I left out the xbmod Notification xbmod cab it would leave that checker in my screen. , Any Ideas>? No go on the calculator in 1.6a titanium. This is the error I get:
The file 'htcCalculator' cannot be opened. Either it is not sighned with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

Also having the Youttube issue, and still cant reply to a text without going to all messages and clicking on the message sender and replying. If I just click on the sent message and hit reply, it keeps giving me that sim card not installed error message! Other then that, no problems with anything else other then a little hiccup here or there. hard reset 4 times, and installed sprint carrier cab, and still have these 2 problems. I cant get the youtube to play either. If you install the cdma XBmod fix, it fixes the text error. I also got the call history in the contacts to be fixed installing the V1b cab attatched on the first page. here you are.
