Can someone explain to me what this means in plain English? Are we talking about basically a "open source" ROM of sorts? Where everyone has access to the files needed to make a rom?

Its one ROM built by some localized chefs for everyone to enjoy.

Isn't it easier to use a community kitchen? ala ppckitchen.org

"Too many cooks in the kitchen...." - sorry I couldn't resist :)

I'm happy to help you guys, but I'm busy enough just with my own ROM.

what exactly were you right about?

i can't believe you still have hostility towards me. get over it.

i don't have time to do another project here. i put in countless hours developing and supporting my rom, i don't think anyone can contest that... it's not a crime to say "no i'm not in".

and for the record i said im still here to help out. JD/Merdinh/Silence have pm'ed me with questions before and I have helped them all. JMZ/Mike/Juggalo and I chat on a regular basis and share files/advice.

peace,
juicy

p.s. best of luck with the project fellas ... what i meant in setting up a kitchen was that you can have a many interpretations of lite/loaded/etc. If people were to submit their SYS/OEMs/Tweaks then vote on what gets included in a large kitchen (which could have an option for 6.1/6.5 for example) then that would be the best solution.

Don't we already essentially have that with ppckitchen.org?

Re: Possible Community Chef project

Couple of things to offer, I can build some VMs on my ESXi box if we want a common build enviroment for chefs to use. I can also host a xmpp/jabber conference/chat room if that would help the chefs cause. Let me know... I also have all the bandwidth in the world available on my host so we can avoid rapidshare/megaupload...

I tend to disagree with u here xweapon, lol. I miss your work! I would love to see a weaponized TP2 Manilla rom. But in all honesty all you guys are great! Its just preference, ive tried every rom on here and likd every one in a different way,so for that I say thanks alot for ALL your hard work and look forward to flashing roms from all you guys in the future! ESP this "ALL STAR ROM"

Re: Possible Community Chef project

Hello,
Just got the touch pro. I wish I wouldn't have jumped the gun so fast and waited for the pro2. But i didn't know anything about it. I had to make a choice between the curve oor pro and im happy with my decision. This community is incredible and I have never been on a forum with people so eager to help. I was able learn to unlock, and flash in minutes of stumbling on ppcgeeks. Im using mightrom 4.15 and loving it. I really like juicy's too but mightymike's won me over.

Anyway... Im young and grew up playing with computers and trying to customize anything and everything. I would love to learn to do some cooking and will do some research on it. If i get a hang of it I will definately be around to take some of the workload of you guys.

Thanks all! I know plenty will be looking forward to the outcome of this project.

Aaron...

I don't know if Xweapon wants me to mention anything but he has cooked up one of the sickest Rhodium ROMs I've used and I'ved used most that have been posted here. This is not to be meant as a comparison or denigration of anyone else's work as there are some really great ones but this one is smooth in a lightweight kind of way...you know how those weaponized ROM's are....:-)

I've been beta testing v1.17 for the last 4 days and have not flashed another ROM in this time...this is truly a record for a flashaholic like me...:smile

Please post your thoughts on the possible project and how many of you would want something like this to go into development.

Now to the topic at hand...the Community Rom project...I think it is an amazing idea. It kind of like Iron Chefs coming together to collaborate on a meal...Hey, why not call it the Iron Chef ROM?
