Re: [3-22-09] Jmz Rom 1.6 [CE OS 21038] [UC] With/Without Manila [Generic Carrier]

Good rom , flashed a few others, but back once again. I like the look, and the performance is great. Recommend this rom. system tools the one in programs, that includes all sprint stuff, i removed due to the fact that i am using telus. Other then that nice work. i look forward to your other work.

JMZ - amazing ROM - one problem I'm having which looks like no one else is having since 1.6. My GPS isn't working - when I use Live Search I get the following error - "sorry could not communicate with GPS on port 0. I also tried Google and that wouldn't work either. I am using 1.6.

Thanks and great work

PS. could a light version be in the future - i am probably the only person in the world who doesn't use facebook

EDIT - Never mind I reflashed and it's now working. Once again - absolutely awesome ROM - Thanks

JmZ, I was wondering if possible to add the new 6.5 wait cursor.

Still no bugs :)

Thanks for integrating that nueGPS security! Did you get a chance to update to the new nueKBLight 1.5?
Also if you can look into integrating nueTVOut as well for the touch pro (allows video out with any video/ipod av cable)
Other then that I'm loving your ROM, keep it up!
Can't wait for the new manila to be ironed out so you can cook it in.

I noticed the manila2 rom is a dead link, is it still being uploaded?

why not do a generic rom and have users choose 1 of 3 cabs?

not 100%, but i think the cursor is built into the .tsk file, as is the skinning of scroll bars.

Hey JMZ, just wanted to say nice work on the 1.7 ROM. First one I've tried of yours and I just tried the one without the manila to see what that was like and I'm really tempted to just stick with it. Tough decision though cause sometimes I like the bling and sometimes I like it simple... Guess I could just check out your ROM with manila and turn it off when I don't feel like using it. Anyway, very nice work!

It is just the standard theme. Working on a sprint theme. This is version beta v1c. It works quite well.

Great ROM JMZ! Quick question - how did you change the color of the HTC menu? Is there a way for us to change it to another color if we want to customize our phones a little?

JMZ - Really awesome ROM - on the Rhodium it looks like the programs tab is missing, is this by design? I saw where we can drag the tabs and put them in different order but is there a way to add a tab without installing a separate program - Once again thanks and it's a shame that more people aren't looking at this because this is the best ROM bar none that I have tried so far - Thanks

There is a file, HTCMenus.bmp in the windows directory. Just pull that and change to your liking.

It was suppose to have the new start menu but it didn't install for some reason.

HKLM/Software/htc/manila

hidden: programs tab = 0

I am pretty sure that is the reg setting to reenable it.

Anyone know if a clock that can be installed just for the date/time on the today screen for the version without Manila? I know I can use the Windows Mobile date on the screen, but that's just ugly IMHO. Any others?

Yes, i just found this today. It is only on the TP2 manila version. I will fix it over the weekend. All you have to do is install any theme for the comm manager. It only needs graphics.

Love the Rom, sticking with this one! but as a noob I cannot seem to get the program tab's back. The above registry path is not working out for me.

I tried explicitly creating a DWORD "hidden: programs tab" with a value of 0 in
HKLM/Software/htc/manila

I checked HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration\11 - which has pageName = Manila://programs.page has an Enable value of 1

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Re: [3-24-09] Jmz Rom 1.7 [CE OS 21038] [UC] Manila-Free/Standard Manila/TP2 Manila

I LOVE this Rom.......
Very Stable, Very fast, and I love the look of the icons.
The Animated Boot screen is classic.
just some minor issues.....

I hadn't even noticed the Comm Manager didn't work until after two days of use when I read the later posts about this issue then tested it......

Is there a way to remove the "Start" program from the home screen task manager?
I have accidently closed the "START" program which kills touchflo and then it will not load touchflo again causing me to have to reboot the device.

In Call Recorder is one of your included programs, but the "Start recording" option is not available in the dialer making this program unusable.

Under Settings--> System --> TouchFlo --> "Enable Large Start menu" Does not enlarge the start menu.

Before I could finish this post I Noticed that the Comm Manager DOES WORK, but everything is Black on Black. If you touch the appropriate area you will activate the appropriate device (phone, airplane mode, etc).

Thank you for your work on this great ROM...

Re: [3-24-09] Jmz Rom 1.7 [CE OS 21038] [UC] Manila-Free/Standard Manila/TP2 Manila

Oddly enough I just tried In Call recording again and it did work, and it worked PERFECTLY...

I just tried it calling out to my own voicemail, and since it is so late at night I do not expect to be able to test it with an incoming call, but hopefully that also works.

HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System

Add a DWORD value called manila.exe or manil2.exe if you are running TF3D2 and set it to 0.

That has done it for me, in the past.

I came accross a cab within the xbmod install: here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493531

Attachment 27529

Credit goes to them, but now I have a programs tab :)

Oddly when I lauch a program from within the programs list, the start menu opens and if I hit all programs I can never get the home screen without killing the manil2.exe process...wierd but working somewhat :)

Thanks
Phil

JMZ,
I've been on these posts for the past few months (since I got my TPro) and I've tried EVERY ROM out there. There's always been one thing or other that always turned me off whether it was an older sys, slower sys, too many customizations, not enough customizations, and so on. You almost had it with 1.6, but your new 1.7 was the PERFECT combination of speed, new sys, not too many unneeded programs, and of course, a smooth TP2 that you built into the kitchen. THANK YOU for allowing me to stop reflashing every morning trying to find the right combo...

Yeah I don't know what happened to my TP2 rom. I lost the new start menu and no programs tab. Well through some testing I found out that the new start menu is just more of a problem than anything else. So I am removing that completely and adding the programs tab.

Thanks. I try to keep it simple but with updates and only programs I will use all the time. I am testing out the new sys/xip of the stock rhodium rom right now, and I am loving it. It is quite fast and smooth. I am having 1 main issue with it but working on getting it smoothed out. Hoping to release update by the end of the weekend

Agree!!!

my comment is (standar-manila-ROM) + (xmod-TP2cab) run better than TP2-Manila ROM, No crash in comunication tab, the only issue is weather tab when i try to add city. Also better than ALL other rom with TP2.
