Question for chef's, regarding possible fix for landscape performance

I know some people have not noticed this, for those who have, you know exactly what I'm talking about. For those who want to know, load any app that has animations of any kind, that can work in both portrait and landscape, and notice how much less smooth animations are in landscape. Notice how the horizontal sync seems to be off in landscape (visible tearing even at smooth frame rate), yet they play perfectly in portrait. Load a benchmark app that can render/measure 2d performance in portrait and landscape and watch how much lower is in landscape (SK Tools' bitmap draw test is a perfect one for this... 30% slower performance in landscape!).

I love most things about this phone, and with some of the great custom roms available here, it has become 500% better than it was out of the box in overall performance.... but this landscape issue persists.

Do any of you chef's or XIP-tweaking types forsee the possibilty of ever fixing this issue? I know a lot of people think that this is a driver issue, but that seems odd to me for a driver to work perfectly fine one way and totally horrible the other. I have poured thru the registry looking for things like vsync and rotation settings for hours but to no avail. Is there any chance that some of you chef's would be willing to look at settings "behind the scenes" and see if there is anything that can affect this?

I can only speak for myself when I say that I would happily make a very generous donation if anyone out there could get this fixed. I'm also willing to guinea pig anything on my phone if a chef needed someone to test stuff.

I can't be the only person who is incredibly annoyed by this issue!
