Hi, I have been using Visual Kitchen for a long time now, and grown accustomed to the layout and such. I had some experience with Legacy as well, but this kitchen is really different. One of my friends uses this kitchen due to being CDMA and I am GSM. I want to update his kitchden with latest SYS/XIP, but need a little hand with XIP. I forget how to write xip.bin into payload file for use in this kitchen. Does the kitchen include any tools to do so, or can you give me a simple walkthrough. Or can someone share ROM folder for 23053? Thanks in advance

you can convert the bin with xipporterex

also look at formerpalmos's xip thread might save you some work

Which build do I choose to use?

Hello everyone - I have probably the most stupid question... But I don't want to use the wrong version.

How would I go about finding out what build I would use when using this kitchen's ROM or another kitchen's ROM?

20755
20931
21042
21501

Which do these build number correlate to? Is it the core version of WinMobile thats different? Is it carrier specific?

I apologize if this information has been listed somewhere else, but I've been flashing ROMs for quite some time and I always chose the one with the largest number, by default, I thought it would be the most up-to-date version (probably not the smartest idea to do without asking).

If someone could point me in the right direction by pasting a link or sending me a PM with a link to where I could locate the information!

The reason I ask now instead of before is that I wasn't really concerned with bricking my older phones. I had a Tmobile Wing, At&t Tilt, HTC Apache and now I've got the HTC Touch Pro... I don't want to make the mistake of bricking this phone - I don't have the time to be down and figuring out what is wrong with it. I know how to build and flash a ROM, however, just wanted to verify what the build was for.

On my phone this is what is listed:

Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19965 (Build 19965.1.2.3)
ROM Version 1.03.651.4
ROM Date 11/11/08
Radio Version: 1.03.15F
PRL Version: 60652
PRI Version: 60652

From seeing the quite obvious 'BUILD 19965.1.2.3' I would think this is what I would base my decision on, but this build isn't mentioned elsewhere.

BTW, I'm using PPCGeeks BuildOS Kitchen. The options I had for different builds are listed at the beginning of this post.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Brando

Hey good to have you back. Is there anyway to get a Cellular South version rom?
You seemed to cover all the other carriers, thanks.

It's carrier generic. I'm not 100% positive but you should be able to flash it and retain your setting. If not there might be a carrier cab around somewhere. I will look when I get time.

EDIT: http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?...%2Fcarriers%2F here, now install the ROM then install the right carrier cab if things seem screwy
