Got replacement phone from Sprint, HARD SPL wont work..
 

i just activated a replacement Touch Pro i got from Sprint today and when i try to run the HARD SPL to unlock the phone it gives me this error

can someone PLEASE tell me how to fix this so i can run a custom ROM on the new phone...

Can you attache screenshot or post it to thread? I cant hit flickr at work.

Also, did you look in HSPL thread before starting a new one?

its error "284" and when i hit the 'insert image' it keeps doing that link crap thing

znoble15, I just received a replacement TP also, and had the same problem.

Although my problem was that I had a ROM on my SD card from a previous flash (raphimg.nbh) and for some reason I was not able to do lock my phone. Hope that helps

Thats very possible if not the case.


This error is EXACTLY what it says....

Update utility cannot see phone....


Try to place phone in bootloader mode then apply the HSPL. Make sure you have nothign on the memory card and swap USB cables / ports... Fresh reboot PC too!

no i dont have my SD card in the new phone yet.. i just turned it on and activated it and tried to put a custom on it right away.. would Sprint super lock down devices to make them not unlockable?

well i manually put the phone in bootloader, and i got a step further, i got the progress bar to show on the phone but then i got a new error "262".. but, when i manually put it in bootloader it said SPL-.37 and it says 'security unlocked' on the top.. sooo does that mean its ready to flash a ROM?

Error 262 means you are using the wrong unlocker.

You may want to ask in the unlocker thread then. I dont know what to tell you other than that. It should work fine, as you know. I dont think its a differnt SPL. I would hope to God not!

yea i think this phone just sucks.. i had no problems and flashed bout 4 different roms on the old tp, but now this one i cant do anything with.. this one blows

i know you can flash roms from a sd card but can you unlock it via micro sd?

You will have to ask in the unlocker thread. I am not sure. Never tried. Are you POSITIVE you downloaded the correct unlocker?

Had an old one so i tried that...didn't work so i downloaded it again. Also after putting it in bootloader mode I got the error 262 as well.

I had that error. uninstall and reinstall activesync fixed the problem

mine said .370000, and if im correct its supposed to have.37CMOS, or some kind of letters besides the 4 0's.. this would be some real BS if Sprint found a way to lock this or something.. i used the HSPL i had, didnt work, so i redownloaded and tried it, didnt work, so i downloaded one from another site, still didnt work.. restarted my computer, used a diff cord and used a different usb port and still came with the error 262

no, but would activesync really play any part in the actual unlocking? because when i put my phone in bootloader, Activesync cant find my phone anymore (says not connected)

If they truly have come out with a new SPL, maybe you could dump it so that the appropriate groups can have at it.

what do you mean a new SPL? if you are a lucky guy to have yours unlocked, i believe it should look like this picture..http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...otLoader-1.jpg..
but mine, instead of having the .37CMONEX, it has the .370000, which i believe is saying its still locked.. Now i might be reaching far, but would there be a chance that refurb Touch Pro's cant be unlocked for custom ROM's?

soo.. its 230am, i wake up and think about how i can get this bs to work.. i uninstall everything, all unlockers, roms AND activesync.. i restart the computer and use ANOTHER new cable.. redownload Activesync, and connect it with the phone.. redownload the unlocker, run the unlocker and get to the status bar.. then i start praying saying "please no 262" over and over lol.. i open my eyes, and what do i see? 100%, and then the best word ive seen the entire day.. "successful"!!! finalllllyy i got it to work and now im not stuck with the pOS sprint rom.. thanks to SCROSLER for all the help!!

You don't actually have to uninstall active synch the is the driver uninstall the device from device manager then let it reinstall itself. Quicker easier no reboot required.!

Actually I tried that...and ALLLL the other suggestions here and other places. Nothing made a difference besides COMPLETELY uninstalling and reinstalling active sync - even tho I wasn't using active sync (I was manually entering bootloader mode). Who knows.

Just for the record I did redownload hardSPL at the same time, but it was the same file so I'm pretty sure it was the activesync reinstall.

First time posting but I just got a new phone off of sprint 2 weeks ago and had the same problem. I did have the Hard SPL downloaded and sitting on my computer but never had the nerve to run it yet. When I finally believed i was ready to unlock my first phone I followed all the instruction i could find and got the same darn problem. After messing around for a day I decided too load it up in bootloader mode just to see what was there. It said it was already security unlocked with the .37000 designation.

I was wondering if I just may have gotten a refurbished sprint phone even if there is no refurbishment data under ##786# screen.

To this day I'm not sure how the damn thing got unlocked but im comfortably flashing a new rom on a day...... i swear its just weird! any idea's???

i think you need to make sure it syncs 1 time i had this happen too after i sync'd i could flash fine

Unlock it via SD card. Thats what I did. It worked.
