Re: Alltel Signal Issues

Hi all, my first post!

I'm gonna give this a try as well - I'm also on Altel. I can't say I've noticed missed calls/msgs or had problems, but I do notice low signal strength (0 - 2 bars) quite often. It's really been bothering me! Not to mention very rapid battery drain... I doubt I talk more than 5-10 minutes a day, with some texting and maybe a few quick jumps on Facebook - and by late afternoon I'm usually down to 25%.

I'll update this once I've given it a fair shake. By the way, to the OP - are you still using the stock Alltel radio? Sorry if I missed that in the thread. I'm using the VZW 1.03. and Mighty 4.5.

Big thanks to everyone in this forum for being such a great resource!

Re: Alltel Signal Issues

Does changing the slot cycle index to 0 make it even better than changing it to 1?

Glad I could help everyone. I'm also using conflippers so I'm not sure why some people have to press send instead of the last #, but whatever, as long as you can get into it Also, I am still using the stock Alltel radio. Since there isn't a stock dump available for it yet I don't want to get away from it. In case I have to return the phone I don't want them denying my warranty I can usually make it through one day and one night without charging. Thats without a ton of talking, but quite a bit of texting, and some web/gps use.

I haven't noticed any difference changing from 2 to 1.

I don't think 0 is advisable.

Re: Alltel Signal Issues

Just thought I'd post this in case some people were experiencing problems.

If you can't get the view/edit screen to show up, then check your windows folder for a file named ePST. Click it, and that should bring it up.

OP, thanks SO much for posting a working solution! I've been trying to do this since October 2008, and yours is the only method that worked (your security code was right). Thanks!!

Re: Alltel Signal Issues

I hvae the same type of issue with my Alltel HTC TP. I have tried this and can not even get the menu to come up. i dial the ##778# and it does nothing, if I hit send after that it calls the number and of course that doesn't work. Anybody got any ideas? I am new at all this and am starting off with simple issues like this before getting into the good stuff! Does that make these "gateway" adjustments??????
