I am positive that the battery isn't loose. The weirdest thing is it doesn't happen all the time, but just enough to be annoying.

Any Sprint users have AGPS working on this ROM?

My AGPS hasn't worked in a LONG time and it has made using GPS very frustrating, not to mention kind of defeats the purpose of my purchase of Sprite Terminator because unless the device has an open view to sky (being in a pocket or bag restricts this, too!), it won't get a GPS lock making it impossible to find.

Don't really mean to be a **** but you should probably ask in the thread of that rom, as Juicy's build doesn't have either of those problems and is probably the smoothest 6.5 rom out atm, even breaking even with the fastest, 6.1 rom that are far easier to optimize.

Mine works pretty well.
I use Garmin MobileXT, Navizon, GCzII, and occasionally GoogleMaps. I can get down to 10-20 Meter accuracy and I lock in Under 15 seconds... generally in a few seconds.

I did have to do a Sprint Device Repair/Swap a while back. I broke one of the little wires (that I assume are antenna wires) that are embedded in the electrical tape right above the battery. I could not get ANY gps reception whatsoever till I got the device replaced.

Hope that's not your issue, and it's WAY simpler.

Well I'm on my 6th device now, and my past ones running this ROM don't have AGPS working either. Put yourself in a spot where you won't have a real GPS signal, like in a basement. The building here has a metal roof, and even by the window I'm not getting a GPS lock like I should.

The AGPS server in this ROM is set to Telus' which is why it may not be working for Sprint, but I made the change back to Sprint's server and no luck. I get a normally poor GPS lock while in my car too, it really needs to have an open view to sky to work, as have my past TP's. Long lock times and persistently poor GPS performance has been going on for a while and it's pretty frustrating for me. I just read a story of someone's iPhone getting stolen, and it being recovered by using MobileMe... and I realized I can't do that with my TP becuase of the extremely unreliable GPS.

This is happening because the rom needs the Taskbar Icon Manager service installed. But for some reason the service just won't automatically start on Juicy 8. It started for me on other Juicy roms, just not the latest release.

So I made a cab that will install the service and put a shortcut in your startup folder which will then use Dotfred's Taskmanager to start the service. Now everytime you soft reset it will start the service so you won't have to.

1. Install to Device
2. Soft Reset
3. Turn on Bluetooth and make sure the icon appears on the taskbar

Sixth device? Either you've had a nasty string of bad luck, or the issues might not be with the phone but with some other variable (user error, interference at your location, tendency to store your device in the microwave, etc.).

Hope you get it resolved. The GPS on these things isn't a replacement for a dedicated GPS unit, or at least isn't for me, but it's incredibly useful at times anyway. I'm running Juicy's ROM and my AGPS is working reliably and quickly. I was using my Touch Pro to find my way thru South Dakota last weekend.

The GPS on mine is great. More sensitive than my other hand held dedicated GPS devices. (Magellan, Garmin..)
