I was curious about Energy ROM because of all the good reviews its been getting lately and the UI setup looks pretty snazzy. I heard the battery was a concern... but I usually don't have battery issues with ROMs that many other people have battery issues with. Does it bring anything new to the table that Juicy's doesn't?

looks more flashy i guess, a lot more installed on first boot. its all about what you like in a ROM really. i tend to trust JUICY more when it comes to TF3D2 but thats not saying that NRGZ isnt good b/c it is, its just my opinion.

My gmail works like a champ. Downloaded pdf any everything. Gots to use IMAP 4, change your account to use IMAP 4 instead of POP3, and start the wizard with an account g@g.com so it doesn't auto detect gmail's setting as pop3, change the mail server name.

Here are the detailed steps:

My phone was on a full charge too 100% after flashing because I kept it on the charger all day... wow, less than 6 hours and not doing a thing to my phone.. is this a fluke? Surely this ROM doesn't pull that much from the battery

Wow, i talked, texted, and played games all day and fell to sleep woke up and still had 40% left, and when i say all day i mean ALL DAY!

Thats how All the J8betas were for me but Juicy8 has been horrible on my battery. I guess I need to reflash from my computer instead of SDHC. Maybe I'll even flash back to stock first... I haven't done that in quite a while.
I know it's something I DID cause even Juicy is satisfied with his work finally :)

I had the gmail problem as well before I figured out what was wrong:

Make sure your Incoming mail server is "pop.gmail.com:995" and user name is "recent:username@gmail.com" Outgoing server is smtp.gmail.com:587 and make sure to check require SSL for incoming and outgoing email. That should resolve the problem. I think the Juicy 8 flash had one of the port numbers wrong.

My battery with this release hasn't been great either. I did install nueDynamicClock though, and this has helped quite a bit. My phone made 8.5 hours with light use with over 80% battery left today while I was at work.

Can someone help? I can't seem to get my custom ringtones to work in Juicy8. Im using the same ones as I did in Juicy 7. I've put them in AppData/Sounds; My Documents/My Ringtones; and Windows/Rings. They show up in the menus,I can sample and hear them, I can set them to contacts but everytime a call comes in the default ringtone plays. I'm farely new to flashing and J7 and J8 are all I've done. Thanks

Youtube doesn't seem to work on the most recent build - it just says "This video cannot be played"... it worked over wifi once, but then stopped working again entirely, over EVDO or wifi. Suggestions?
