How do I keep HTC TP from powering off while playing music with WMP

Hopefully there is some simple solution to this that I just haven't figured out. Not sure if this matters, but I am running my TP with the regular Today screen not the TF3d. When I play music using WMP through my headphones running off battery power, it stops playing after a fwe minutes (presumably b/c is powers down since it's running off battery). Is there a simple fix to this. BTW I'm running Dream 1.2_Full ROM (don't know if that matters either, but I thought maybe it's one of the battery saving tweaks built into the ROM). Thanks for your help in advance.
