boots creens and splash screens?

Ok I see I can do a boot screen by replacing the welcome.192.png file but how do I do an animated splash screen? I read to use Advanced Config but I see no option for animation at all in the config tool.

as far as not seeing the option in advanced config, i think it is rom specific. i flashed to the new mighty rom the other day and it was not an option, but it is an option for the OEM sprint rom. so you will have to figure out which file is playing at startup and paste over it.

You need to replace the Startup_640x480.gif file in your \Windows folder.

i believe i searched for "splash screens" and at the time it was the 2nd one. you can't miss it, just look for the thread creator i mentioned.

In some ROMs I've noticed the startup is called HTCAnimation.gif - just depends on who made the ROM.
