I was just looking at the VZW site checking the specs on the TouchPro and noticed something odd.

They post the following information: Memory: 512MB Flash/192MB RAM but our phones only have 110.28. I get the whole loading stuff into RAM for quick access all that but where is the rest?

I was sure we were stuck with the 110 but now I am pissed nad frustrated again!](*,)

The OS gets the rest. What I mean is that the OS takes 80+ of the 192.

Yeah something like that....

Its like this actually.....

64 megs to ISM (No clue what that means)..... 128 Megs to ROM and user memory. 192 is total

Sprint is 32 Megs ISM and 256 To ROM and user mem. Total is 288.

Just an FYI.

IM wondering now if there is a way to bring the ISM to 32 and have an extra 32 megs of RAM?????

That would be the ultimate hack this far. Besides lllboredlll GPS of course!

That is RAM allocated for the linux based radio functionality. ISM(instrument, scientific, medical) Radio bands are basically what frequency your radio broadcasts at. Noting that VZW is allocating 64 mb to these bands would lead me to believe they are broadcasting on the higher frequency band of the CDMA spectrum. As we all know there is always a certian bit of RAM allocated directly to the radio. It's really intriguing to find out why VZW has set aside that much.
