I noticed the same thing. Thanks!

So Bob,

I have been reading everything you are saying about battery on and off. Cant keep up with everything... Can you just suammarize your thoughts on battery depletion vs different ROM's and differnt Radio's? If you have done this already can you link me the post?

I value all the research you are saving me in the long run!

Hi Scott,
I couldn't find the post about the different radio tests, it must have been in the original Vers 1.0 Kitchen thread, but that thread is not listed in the archives. I've attached a pic of the summary, but I'd have to dig to find out which line represents which radio. However, since they are all about equal, I don't think it makes any difference. The main difference in the radios, would be on how effectively they perform. How they handle the information thatpasses thru them, and the logic employed on how to continue or reject a given packet. That I do not have the capability to test.

My results from the WiFi vs EVDO test are on page 70, Post 695. Again the results were identical. No battery performance improvements.

I haven't tested battery vs ROM because I don't change my ROM. I don't have the knowledge to debug them, so I wait till they are stable before I will make a change. I also don't like the time it takes to add the user programs back into the phone. That's why I'm hoping that phattooth comes up with the solution to AutoRun. I do believe, as stated by FormerPalm(?) that limiting the number of files in the Windows directory, will make a major difference in ROM performance. That is why I like putting apps on the SD card. Easier to update, more free space in MainMemory for stuff that REALLY needs to go there.

I will continue to look for the Post I had on the Radios. I think I may have copied it to other threads.
EDIT 1: Link to the Radio Test Results

That would confirm my earlier tests.

This is the best rom I've used todate ... it does everything I need very well ... the only thing I'd like it to do is allow flashing light on notifications ... I like to keep the phone quiet ... the flashing light allows me to know when I get a call, email, text etc ... is ther a registry entry or something to allow this ... I know the TP can do this as the ppcgeek kitchen roms allow this ... this rom however has exhibited superior battery life for me ... thanks for any help in advance

My phone does that. I suspect that there is checkbox in "Sounds and Notifications"...If not, check out Diamond Tweaks..(The utility app, not the thread)..I'm quite sure there is one there that will do it for you

Bob

Gentlemen, just to confirm the above, I ran a test on the Data Connection today. The Purple line (hardly visible) is with the Data Connection OFF. To be sure, I turned off Outlook and something called tmail.exe to make sure they wouldn't activate the connection.
The red line is with the Data Connection turned ON, but not polling for data, since the outlook was turned off and so was the tmail.
The only active items during the tests were the phone (no incoming calls) and again, as is my habit, the Brightness level was turned up HIGH.
I only ran them for a little over an hour, but considering the jpg, I didn't see the need to continue any longer.

As you can visibly see, the results are the same.

Loving the ROM. My touch pro would have gone back to VZ had I not found this.

ROM Version: Deluxe
Speed: Still blazingly faster than stock ROM. Runs out of memory easily, though.
SSK Online!: Great idea. Needs more stuff, though!
Encryption: "Meh" :)

Thanks to Scott and everyone else' hard work that has been put into this ROM.

PS - I am running the sprint radio 1.11.00F on my VZ Touch Pro and have noticed that it has helped battery immensely. I work in a two story CBS building with practically no signal in my office. On the VZ radio it would constantly be searching for signal (the phone would get HOT) and would die within an hour. With the sprint ROM it's much more "tame". I miss calls and texts are slightly delayed when in the office, but my battery also doesn't drain like it did before.. so I highly recommend it to anyone who works/lives in a low-signal area!
