I am not sure what the problem is... I might try to relock it and unlock it again. See if that works.

Thanks guys for the support.

I do have the new manila and some fantastic ideas for skinning, modifing, etc. However...

I believe this thread has flatlined...

And as such, I am withdrawing from the public eye for several reasons:

1. Too many developers...
2. Too many roms... (because there are too many developers)
3. Too many repeat questions... (because too many developers making too many roms)
4. Seems to be a subtle competition between rom developers...
5. The need for "Thanks", giving "love", appreciation, credits due, etc is too chaotic. Too much concern over free released software, etc. (if you are afraid you will not recieve due credit, dont post it. Simple.)
6. I do not have the resources to stay up-to-date
7. I am not smart...
8. My 1987 IBM Thinkpad with 256mb ram is just not cutting it
9. There are too many beta roms, leaks, Official "UnOfficial" releases, etc that doesnt really allow to create a mainstay rom. And as a result everyone is flashing everyday.
10. My roms are too heavily modified for everyday users.
11. This hobby takes away from my firearm hobby.
12. Too many self-deputized moderators.

There may be more but I think this sums the vast portion of it. I will have the links and thread remain active... until someone(s) decide to argue and ultimately have this thread locked down. So until then, please feel free to post it up and help each other. I will visit frequently to assist in what I can.

I may post underground roms and have them share through user-to-user via PM/email/etc. We will see...

wow man i feel ya. ive been lurkin round these forums awhile dont post much, cause im not all that smart either but try to contribute when i can. i have seen a bit of drama round here lately. there was just some big weird blow up in juicy's thread today. I really dig the way u skin your roms out. im pretty lazy. i usually just flash a rom and use whatever skinning the chef has already cooked in. which for the most part are boring. i couldnt use ur rom too fucntionally cause there seemed to be conflicts with it and alltel but since i flashed it and got to play around with it a bit i find myself trying to duplicate ur skinning on others roms and ive come pretty close.-is that the longest run-on sentence or what? anyway hate to see you discontinue your rom production to lose someone that is doing something so different than everyone else hurts. it takes away from the blah. i know its time consuming but its got to be a whole lot cheaper than your firearms. i know i smoke through the dough firing my desert eagle 50ae. i hope u will pm/email when u cook up your personal roms. thanks again

i just about cried when i read that weapon =[
i will be missing you greatly! you rom was by far my favorite...and i flashed every rom i could get my hands on.
i cant believe this is the end! your customization was the best thing done to a rom to date. There isn't a single rom that looked as slick as yours or was as heavily customized.
I cant take it man please release something else! or include me in your underground rom release =[ ahhhh nnooooooo weapon
i totally agree with you though i hate seeing roms called "best rom ever" or "one rom to rule them all" its all a bunch of bull**** **** man im getting all worked up now!
but i see why you chose to stop and just wanted to say thanks for your roms they were the best!

I feel a fast-paced shift in HTC devices & software is upon us. There will be tons of new development/new devices in the upcoming months and in perspective I feel that unless I really have something really innovative, I need to leave the practical development to those that are skilled in such and properly equipped.

I would imagine that many newcomers to PPCGeeks are easily overwhelmed when they arrive and the fact that everything right now is progressing so fast makes it difficult for the average new guy to grasp the necessary material. There are more roms/apps/tweaks/mods than ever before. The patience for explaining material is running out (taken into account that searching should have been accomplished beforehand but remember that we too were excited the very first time...) and many are getting burned out. The frequency of thread closures/cleanups based upon conflict of interests/arguments is becoming worrisome. I simply want to reduce my clutter to the overall picture.

And yes, firearms are more expense...

but they make loud noises which me likey... ;-)

I remember when I released my first Mighty Stable ROM (Old rom name) back in the diamond forum around September. There were a lot of roms at the time, no one really spoke in my thread, it was tough. I had like 10 users compared to Juicy's 1000+

At many times, I wanted to just stop because whats the point. Juicy always had new updates with all these new things, while I didn't have much access to them all.

At the end of it all, It was just NICE knowing people were using my creation. So it kept me going and the rom became more popular.

It's a shame to see chefs go, especially the ones who provided a DIFFERENT experience. Personally customized manila, etc.

I posted a message in the diamond forum last night in another thread basically stating it doesn't matter how many replies or views your thread has, your providing something to the community and sharing it for everyone.

It's sad to see you go, you truly had a different rom compared to the others and people most recognized you for that particular reason.

Take care bud!

xweaponx, Thanks for you work. Your ROM, although highly customized for your specific needs, was blazingly fast and trim. I enjoyed running it on my TP.

I'd have to completely agree with the point being made by Mike. I myself have maybe 10 users...lol.... but it's been really cool helping the chef's with their rom's. I could have 20,000 users and it wouldnt mean as much to me as it did for people such as yourself that came and asked for my input. I personally think you should keep updating as time permits but going underground would be a loss to the community. If you do quit atleast teach me all of your tricks first :evil4: j/k. Dont let the number of so called "developers" discourage you. Alot of them just run a standard kitchen with standard choices and then tag their name to it. That's not developing that's cooking and as I said before (I think in this thread actually).... I can teach a monkey to click a button a few times. It takes talent to do what you've done with your rom's. I don't even consider myself a developer. All I did was streamline and simplify the process for some people. But I did see it as a small way to contribute. I hope you reconsider....

|||bored||| has a really good point please reconsider xweapon! i hate to keep posting but im hate to see such a great DEVELOPER like you go into hiding what you did to your rom was amazing and very cool
infact i am still using your 1.14 rom! i keep trying others but always end up flashing back to yours. would love to see what you could do with the touchpro2 manila. I say you keep making your rom and we will all spread the good word! forget the other cooks we need more developers like you! Your rom is truely unique and thats what i love about it

Well, for the record, I rocked your ROM for a while and loved it. Only reason I stopped using it is to experience everything that's out there. I never posted here I guess cause I never had ANY issues with your ROM. As far as look and feel, there is NOTHING else out there like your ROM. Most other Roms are fairly similar, but the detail in this ROM insane. Hope you haven't really left yet, but good luck either way, and thanks for sharing your talents.
