Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

You do realize that 2.1.4 is out? Also, I would refer to bored's GPS thread if you are having issues with GPS.

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

No worries!! Congrats on the recent purchase. With the vx6850's limited RAM you made a good choice with GC's ROM (I am currently running his 2.1.4), also the SSK rom is pretty nifty as he gives you a bunch of different sys versions to choose from. I am little sweet on Calckin's rom's although he hasn't posted one to fix the hardware keyboard so wait on this before you try his rom. gl hf!

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

well, i think i bricked my phone. cooked a rom, flashed it, now the phone won't boot past the verizon screen. tried to hard reset, but no luck...

EDIT: nevermind. brought it back to life (realized i can put the phone in bootloader mode with power + volume down and re-flash). all is peachy. the ROM is great. very fast as everyone can agree. My mistake seems to have been setting the pagepool too high. i started out setting it to 24. i knocked it down to 16 and now everything works. Thanks for a great ROM, GC.

GC thanks for the kitchen. Your kitchen is simple and it is allowing me to play with making a rom for my TP. So far everything is working, stable and fairly quick. But most of all I wanted alot of memory which I have now even with the extra's I added. Thanks again!!!

Re: GC's Touch Pro ROMs & Kitchen 2.1.0

Wow...GC cannot believe I found you...I'm a family man do not get time to search much when kids are home...(you might see an email & pm from me on xda)

GC and others who can answer...

Company will change out my phone soon from a Verizon 6800 to the Verizon Touch Pro. I am use to the 6800 my first & only HTC phone so when I get the TP I want to use your ROM:

1. A-Key: Do I still have to get a new A-Key after I add the spl & your ROM as I did with the 6800 starting with a new TP?

2. I travel and use TomTom 7 (TT7) on the 6800: You did an excellent job on xda to fix the gps which is a big aid to my job.
-2a Can I use TT7 on this device
-2b What does it take to get GPS working with YOUR Rom on the TP?

3. I have always used straight ROM and not the kitchen...I am sure this will not be an issue. Cabs/installs I performed on the 6800 will they work on the TP?

Appreiate any help fam seeing that I am moving home from xda to here with GC & others...

Simple questions & I will read/learn as I go...so show a lil luv...

TIA

whats wrong with it saying 3G?

1 - no, my data worked after my first flash/activation (using Sprint TP on Verizon)

2 - i used TomTom 7 on my 6800 last week with 825.2159 maps. I just upgraded to a TP and use the same exact setup (except use the VGA installer for 640x480 devices instead of the QVGA installer for 320x240). The fix on his wiki link is the same for the 6950 (TP) since they are QPST settings, and not phone specific, only carrier specific.

3 - Which cabs are you talking about. Some are for QVGA like the 6800 (320x480) and some are for VGA (640x480), so make sure you get the right one. Most apps are universal and can run on either, but some apps like TomTom have two different installers based on screen size.

Also the best combination in my opinion is this ROM and the 1.11 Radio. I get 10-15 second max GPS fixes
