New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro

1 Attachment(s)
Enjoy the newest PRL from the Sprint Touch Pro. I got a new one this past week and it came on it. I extracted it and now its time for you to update yours! =) Enjoy!

Cheers,

Mikee

If you do not know how to update your PRL read the following

1. On your dial pad, dial ##PRL# (or ##775#)
2. Enter your MSL (Read below. Thanks boxer112, this is the same method I used to get mine)
3. Tap "Menu" in the lower right corner
4. Tap "Edit"
5. Select "Browse" and locate the PRL file.
6. After selecting the PRL and loading it, select OK. Handset should power off then back on.

How to get your MSL on your touch pro

Change the following registry entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ATDbgLog
Enable: 1
LogMode: 1

* Wait a about 10 minutes (more time will not hurt), and soft-reset.

* Check to see that the file \Atlog\ATDbg0.txt has been created.

* Return the values back to what they were (most likely 0) waiting the same amount of time as above.

* Look in the ATDbg0.txt file and you should see a log of commands sent to the CDMA radio and there should be something like this somewhere in the file:

~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~
00:00:00 Tx:AT+HTC_RMSL=0\r
00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_RMSL: (###THIS WILL BE THE MSL###)\r\n0\r
00:00:00 Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 123456\r\n0\r
~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~

The numbers next to the Rx: +HTC_RMSL line should be your MSL

Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro

didn't notice any comparable difference to my evdo internet speeds, but i'm sure with this new roaming list i'll get better reception ;)

thanks again...

so does any1 see an improvement compared to 60650 or the 60714?

i preferred the 60650 over all, but i want to test the 60750 a little further before my final verdict....

I found a method that actually worked perfectly...

Use this method. I don't know who found it, but credit goes to them.

00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_RMSL: (###THIS WILL BE THE MSL###)\r\n0\r
00:00:00 Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
00:00:00 Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 123456\r\n0\r
~~~~~~~~~~~SNIP~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is an aircard PRL and does nothing different than 60650.
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
Exactly, 607xx PRLs are for aircards, whereas 606xx is for EvDO smartphones (aka the Touch Pro).
I ran the auto update and it updated to 60750.
As in the "Update PRL" application, or by calling *2?
I have 60614 here also, the Update PRL options results in no available updates.
Bought my TP last week, Manf Date is 12/15/2008. PRL is 60750.
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
60614 here in Tucson. Browse comes up blank. As does the built-in PRL function. Maybe later rather than now.
techfury90 01-16-2009 03:31 PM
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
Yeah, I get nothing with 60650 or 60614 in Greenville, NC. I'm waiting for ecare to flag my account for a *2 update, we'll see what that does.
techfury90 01-16-2009 05:14 PM
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
A quick glance of the two PRLs, 60650 and 60750 reveal that the only differences are the version number, and about 5 more system records (I didn't go through all 609 to check the differences).
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
Dumb>>> But are prl's carrier specific?
Right now I'm using alltels 40042 and it gave me the sprint evdo availability, But i'm out of state for about 3 months, and its a primarily vzw/sprint dominant location. Was wondering if it is capable?
techfury90 01-16-2009 05:46 PM
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
Yes, they are carrier specific. Edit: 40038 is the latest for Alltel.
Except 40042 is only for divested markets AFAIK. I've heard 40042 may be in non-divested markets soon, but in non-divested markets, 40038 is still the latest.
can prl files be installed via cab method, or only EPST?
Re: New Sprint PRL 60750 I extracted From Touch Pro
You can manually update the prl file, but you need the msl code.
How are you updating? I assume ##775#? No issue on mine doing that method. Maybe re-download the PRL again to your card.
