Re: JD's ROM 4.0

I'm now getting a Windows Media error when exiting the video player. "Cannot play the file because the specified network protocol is not supported." Never has this problem come up before when playing video's from my storage card. Anyone else getting this error? It started when I upgraded from 3.5 to 4.5 and continued with the 4.5.1 update as well.

Excellent work JD!

I flashed my device this morning with 4.5.1... so far its rather nice and quick. Other than not so great battery life, I like this rom. I do have a few issues I need to have addressed.

1. How can I install the original task manager? It's missing and the WK Tasks takes up too much space on the top bar. I can't see the message icon. Actually, I only can see the clock, volume, signal, EV and BT. The rest get covered by the WK Task app.
2. Can we replace the clear black clock? I tried Caulkins's Black clock, but I get the white square in the upper left hand corner. It looks cool, but I find the black clock with white numbers easier to see in the daytime.
3. Can we install the Long End Key option? It's missing, but if you hold the button, it automatically locks. I'd rather have it disable the data connection or give me an option.
4. I know there is a way to change the soft menu options. I rarely use the camera, but nearly always use the Programs from TF3D. I'd like to change that back.

Other that the few things listed above, I really like the speed of this rom. I did change the PP to 32MB and it flies! Just need to tweak up the battery a bit since I use the BT all day long and I'd be perfect! It's an excellent ROM and I do recommend it. At first I didn't like the way the slider was doing the transparent thing across the tabs (always showing the previous screen until you let go), but I like it now. I would really love to see the call history tab and I'd never ask for another thing!

How did you change the pagepool. I have always used the hex editor, but not sure what to search for since the default isn't 6mb. Thanks for the help in advance.

You can use the pagepool changer thats in the ruu folder so when you flash it will automatically change it for you. Now when using the hex editor look for the value A0 03 06 16 A0 13 00 and just change the two values before the A0.

Ok I realize that this is probably a dumb question, but what Ruu folder? Now keep in mind I always flash from the storage card. I would love to just use the pagepool changer, just thought that didn't work.

On a side note, thanks for the hex string!

Oh ok, I have never flash from the storage card before. The pagepool changer does work though, and the ruu folder is when you are flashing from a pc.

In the settings for WkTsk, there's an option to not show a tab if there's nothing running

Not to keep asking the same question.... but wow.... are you saying that you have had the new Omina D3D drivers in your ROM since the Titan Roms?
