Re: [12/27/08] Juicy ROM 4.5 [SYS OS 5.2.20954 Build 20954.1.5.0]

I switched to Juicy 4.5 from Yay 4 juggs 4.0. I am not sure if it the way I have been using the phone or what, but i seem to be get 10 to 15% less battery life with this rom. Anyone have any comments?

Yep, don't judge any rom by the battery life. I am being serious because there is not one rom out there that gives consistant battery results for everyone. Some say they get more some say they get less. I am going to go out on a limb and say that most if not all of the cooks have/are using the exact same battery enhancement registry settings. Some roms might be more graphical or use different size page pools so that can effect battery life but still, it's way to inconsistant from one person to the next on the same rom.

Not to mention that you can get different battery results form one day to the next without changing your usage pattern...

Are you restoring any backups at all after flashing?

I ask because previous experience has told me that people that have restores of text messages, seem to get them all resent after restoring. If you are having this issue with no backup's restored then I would have to guess it's Sprint. I won't say it is 100% Sprint but my GF has had MANY issues lately on Sprint, although I have not. Also, I have flashed Juicy's rom as well as many others recently and I have never had this issue.

I looked at a dump of my old Mogul's registry and this is the only user agent string I could find. See if it works for you

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent]

This is a Sprint issue.....call them and they will have to fix it....I know for a fact it is them...it has happened to me before and last time on Juggs rom someone went through it and I told them it was Sprint they did not believe me and the next day my wife's Treo did the same thing...no rom flash on hers....call tech support....

Verified. In fact, every version of every ROM I used here has CONSISTENTLY shown worse battery life than Y4J 4.0. I still flash ROMs two or three times a week to check progress on other ROMs but battery life is a huge deal for me. That's why I still use one of the oldest ROMs out ... Y4J.

This may be true, but Y4J CONSISTENTLY gives SUBSTANTIAL battery life compared to every other ROM thus far. The battery consumption on standby for his ROM is exceptional.
