Question Loaded ROM vs installing CABs?

I am the new proud owner of a TP, build date 11-26-08, thanks to Mastanthony89 and his post on BB's sale for TPs http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48627

my dilemma, I like/know to cook ROMs and have done MANY for my 6800. after looking to cook a ROM for the TP using BuildOS and reading through the TP posts I am unsure what is the best way to proceed. I would prefer a custom ROM for more speed/responsiveness etc...

1. do I create a loaded ROM, although the list of items in the TP kitchen is less than that of the Titan kitchen.
1.1 where can I find a FULL list of of the different ROM authors and what they have to offer, the searches I did didn't produce the wanted results.

2. create a "clean" ROM and then add all the different CABs
2.1 where can I find a FULL list of of the different CABs and what they have to offer, the searches I did didn't produce the wanted results.

Thanks

Your choice. If you have an SD card, there are advantages to both methods.

nowhere. It'd be outdated shortly after it was written, anyway.

Faster and easier to just flash them and try them out for 20 mins.

Re: Loaded ROM vs installing CABs?

does it run cleaner to just install the cabs of to have them in OEMS for when you flash?

OEM's if it's a personal rom of yours. Cabs if not. Makes it easier to install or uninstall if they are not cooked into the rom. It's all a matter of taste.

The registry is cleaner, /windows is more of a mess. You can't uninstall an OEM, but it is there after every hard reset (and part of every rom, if you're baking your own). Installing licensed software via cab can be more of a pain than from an oem. Some software doesn't OEM nicely, and you're better off using it in .cab form.
