Question UC Detailed Instructions...

Can someone post a pretty detailed list of instructions for creating the UC files on the storage card?

I've read the XDA thread, and some threads on here... but nothing really breaks down step by step on how to do it.

Thanks!

Hopefully you feel better about yourself after that post...

Now read my post over again... see how I mentioned that I already read the XDA threads?

Some people have been a huge help by breaking things down in a step by step style that really helps the noobs that visit this site...

Obviously, you are not one of those posters...

Just wayyyyyyy to many threads floating around on this topic. It's kind of a waste of space posting this everywhere like it is. Sorry if you don't agree with that. I would suggest posting within those 200 threads asking for a break down instead of starting an entirely new one.

Re: UC Detailed Instructions...

It is super easy.

Put all your cabs into a folder on your storage card and create a .txt on your computer and drag and drop to the storage card. In the .txt you will need to put

LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Badboy8813 Audio Fix- (Lite Boost).cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\classic_word_completion.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\NFL.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\OzIM_Raphael_ Sprint_2.0.77.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\PhotoResize.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\roaming.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\sprint-navigation-htc-raphael-2.1.10.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\SprintTV-1_6_Raphael_1044_082708.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\tcmdpocketarm(2).cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\TorchButton_v1.2.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\VGA MusicID_1.3.16.CAB
LOCK:Disabled
RST: Reset

As you can see I put all my cabs into a folder called Cabs and then I listed everything that should auto install. There is a program that will make the .txt for you.

Make sure to name the .txt SDConfig.txt

Big Thanks! I just didn't know about doing something on a PC...

So it looks like whatever CAB you want in the UC, you put in that folder... and the .txt is created using the notepad right?

Re: UC Detailed Instructions...

Really it all seems very cryptic and in some ways it really is. The simplest way to start out is by making a .txt file named SDConfig.txt.

Here is mine
Code:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\sdkcerts.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\tcmdwincearm.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\FdcSoftTaskMgrwm2005_3.1.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\StarPlayr.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Red Focus.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\ThumbCal.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Sounds.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\TCPMP-0.72RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\PictureMail.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\DopeWars.PPC3_ARM.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\sprint-navigation-htc-raphael-2.1.10.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\BallRebound_ARM_240_320_WM5.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Galaxies.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\StarWars Theme V3.1.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\Owner.cab
LOCK:Disabled
HIDE:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\LiveSearchWM6.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\galarm_0.9.8.3.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\tripYzee_200WM5.CAB
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\SpbMinesweeper_COM.arm.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\TouchResponse_v02_2.CAB
HIDE:Disabled
LOCK:Enabled
XML: \Storage Card\Cabs\AceProvisioning.xml
LOCK:Disabled
RST: Reset
You HAVE to have LOCK:Enabled as the very first thing in your file and you have to have LOCKisabled and RST: Reset as the very last thing in your file. Everything else in between is what you want to be installed by cab or xml.

The SDConfig.txt file will be on your memory card. It sits there and that is where the UC will look for it so if it is anywhere else, then nothing happens.

Now you need to make a folder called Cabs on your memory card. In this folder you will copy all of the cabs you want installed.

They will mimic what you have, word for word, in your SDConfig.txt as above.

The section in the middle of my SDConfig.txt that unlocks and hides blah blah is for cabs that will require some sort of user input before they can move on. I HIGHLY suggest you avoid those files for now. Just to make things smooth and easy for yourself. The .xml file will include things like registry changes and specific file things like creating a folder then moving things into that folder. It gets far more advanced but this is the jist of it.
