The phone shows that it is unlocked so can it be that the ability to flash a custom rom is blocked?
I flashed my Sprint TP for the second time last night and it worked almost flawlessly. The hard part is taking the time to read through all of the pages and pages of others posts before you feel you have the idea down. By your descriptions, it looks like you are about where I am. The only glitches I had was when after I moved the RUU_signed.nbh thing (I didn't know what this was, was just supposed to know that it was the new replacement rom after the converted from the .rar compressed form) into the new RUU folder, and after I made sure the phone was in connection with Activesync on the pooter, I then ran the Update unitility (exe) which is in that RUU folder. The glitch was that the first time I tried running, the phone stayed in the tri-color mode and didnt switch to the progress page. There was no actual updating going on. And eventually I got an error message which I don't remember the number of. I had this same thing happen the first time I flashed my phone. So I left everything as it was except I disconnected the sync cord from the computer and reconnected it. I then went again into the RUU folder and ran the update utility again. This time the screens on the phone and the computer showed a progress bar for loading the new Rom. No problems occured after that. Now I am running Yay 4 Juggs. It's good.

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

I just flashed for the first time and wow was I nervous. I had to unlock via the SD card since I have a mac with no bootcamp, and I was having the tricolor screen loop which made me think I bricked my phone (I had no idea what to do).

I followed the SD card flashing instructions to the T and flashed with MightyROM 4.16. Worked flawlessly! I can't thank EVERYONE here enough!

So if you are having the loop of the tricolor screen just flash a rom, it worked for me!

Quick question though, if I wanted to flash a different rom do I just literally do the same thing or do I have to do something special to remove this rom first? Oh and can I delete the .nbh file at the root of my SD card or do I have to leave it there for this rom to work correctly? Sorry if they sound noobish, I can't help it I have a noob but my cherry as just been popped! Thanks again!

1st, congrats on the 1st flash. To answer ur question-replace current .nbh with the new one. then repeat the flashing steps(fone is already unlocked) from what i've read here, might wanna hard reset ur fone 1st, before flashing(hopefully i understood what i read, if not, anyone who knows...please correct me..thx)

K, that makes sense, thanks! But if I want to keep this mighty rom, do I have to leave the .nbh file on my storage card, or can I delete that (not sure if I need that still or not, but I'm guessing it is only needed for the flashing process).

exactly..u can back up that .nbh somewhere else, but on the sd card u wanna use, make sure only the .nbh u wanna flash is on the root...i think i heard, that u can put it in a folder on da same card and name the folder something totally different, that way the phone wont recognize the .nbh files on the root...me personally, i jus back it up on the pc or another sd card(ima a lil OCD like that...lol)

no need to hard reset prior to flashing......when you flash it hard resets the phone.....after flashing is when you want to do a hard reset after the new rom boots fully.....the reason being is sometimes remnants of the previous rom are left over......

QFT !!!

hey flyers, remember back on the titan when you had to remove the battery, esp when flashing no2chem roms

about flashing ROMs from SD Card....and backing them up...
what i do, when i find or cook a rom i like, is i will store the nbh(s) in a folder called ROMs,
then just copy/paste to root and rename for flashing
