Sorry if this has been covered in the 108 pages... but...

I'm sending my TP back for advance replacement (for a refurbished TP). The new one arrived, and it it's 0.40.0000. The original one was 0.37. The question I have is, if I have to return this new one to Sprint, and I relock it - will it relock as 0.40.0000 again, or will it be 0.37.0000?

And, will Sprint care that the loader screen is now older than the original 0.40?

0.40 is the version for the latest sprint ROM, so if you have to reflash it for a return use SprintTouchProMR2.01.651.6

.37 relocker is the only one available, so once you unlock it, you will not be able to go back to the .40. Sprint will not care if you return it with the .37. And it won't matter if you flash the newest rom or either of the 2 old ones in the first post of the stock roms sticky thread. As long as it's locked and has a sprint shipped rom flashed via activesync, you're good to go.

not doubting what you say, but my experience has been that the lock version for the sprint roms goes with the build. once you flash a specific sprint stock rom the lock version is changed to that build...

shipped rom .35
first updated rom .37
latest maintenance rom .40

that is why there has been unlock / relock issues with the latest release from htc and why you have to use SSPLManual to bypass the .40 lock

i may have it wrong, but like i said it seems that way to me

I've never heard of a sprint phone with .35. I know .35 is the spl for verizon phones though. But I have flashed the shipped rom on around a hundred or more touch pro's and have helped numerous people on here and have never seen it relocked afterwards. cmonex spl has always remained after flashing the shipped rom. I'm not tryin to say you're wrong...just that this is what I've seen and read and experienced over the last year with the touch pro.

So what your're saying is, if you were to flash the newest sprint rom on your phone right now, it would change the spl from .37.cmonex to 0.40.0000?

You have to run the relocker to get rid of the CMONEX... it just doesn't go back to the 0.40... but if no one ever got grief from Sprint over that, then I'm good with it too.

if the phone is locked and you flash the htc maintenance rom recently released it changes the lock version to .40. that is the only way i have tested it. and i have gotten the lock version of .35 on my TP with the shipped rom from sprint.

i would test further, but have been working on a final 6.5.1 rom and will be moving to another device within the next month or so

ahhh....ok. gotcha. i'll have to see if that happens with me the next time i have a touch pro. I always just flash the shipped rom then lock it with the .37 relocker. Next time, I'll lock it, then flash the shipped rom again and see if it changes from .37.0000 to .40.0000. thanks for the info.

Guys...
I'm trying to relock my phone because I need to send it in to sprint. I installed the factory ROM - 3.27.4.3 (the file is called Hermann_C_SPRINT_WWE_1.03.651.4_RS1.03.15F_SPCS_1. 53_0909_PRL60613_Ship.exe) and then I ran the relocker, it showed the Boot screen and it says SPL-0.25.C-SSPL??? Everyone on here is talking about .37.000 and stuff...what am I doing wrong?

you will see that when you use the SSPL Manual exe file to put it into bootloader mode. You have to do this:
with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
