Re: [Android Froyo][CyanogenMod6-Ports by Neopeek]
Ok so I just installed android and you must extract the files to the fat32 partition. I also read a few posts above and you say that you have a few sd cards to use? I am currently using a sandisk 1gb microsd card and it has been working for me just fine.
I wish I know about creating an ext2 in windows before I installed ubuntu and using gparted. that would have saved me so much time. I spent a good few hours dowloading ubuntu, figuring out how to use gparted, and booting back and forth from ubuntu and windows like a zillion times. |

I corrected the previous post. I forgot I switched fs-driver with ext2fsd, fs-driver didn't work for me. And you have to run the utility and assign a drive letter to the ext2 partition (it will say "Linux") on the bottom window.

LOL maybe you'll find you like Ubuntu... give it a fair shot.
And are you writing to your ext2 partition from Windows? That seems like a baaaaaaad idea.... |
Re: [Android Froyo][CyanogenMod6-Ports by Neopeek]
Neopeek's ROMs are great. You should check out his website and see the variety. The only thing that doesn't work on my Sprint TP is bluetooth to my Jawbone. That's the issue I run into with XANDROID too. If anyone can get a bluetooth headset working, let me know. I'll switch headsets so I can start using this ROM full-time.

* Renaming the correct startup.txt in npkinstall and running the install.exe. or * Copying the correct startup.txt from startups to your SD Card root and running haret.exe from the SD Card root. Install.exe copies the ROM files from androidinstall.tar.gz to the ext2 partition. When it was running, I thought it said it was doing a format. So there's no worry about a data.img file deletion? |

Re: [Android Froyo][CyanogenMod6-Ports by Neopeek]
OT: I tried to sign up for NeoPeek's but it gave me an SMTP error, I have a hotmail email, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Can someone let him know of this error? Thanks!

So i'm guessing you haven't got Android running yet? Where you able to create the fat32 and ext2 partitions. If not try using Gparted, it is a little more work to install it but it is fairly easy to use. Create the fat32 partition first, then the ext2 partition. Also keep the ext2 partition smaller than 512 mb if you are going to use a large sd card. After creating the partitions, extract the files directly to the root of the fat32 partition on your sd card. (You want to see a list of 10 files on the root of the sd card. Not one folder holding all of the files.) You would then go into the npkinstall folder rename your device to startup, not startup.txt. If you rename it startup.txt the installer will read the file as startup.txt.txt and it will not install correctly. Immediately after you change whichever device name you are using to startup, go to app named install (which is located in the same npkinstall folder.) And click on it to run. after you will see your screen loading Android into the ext2 partition that you created. After installing the files, the phone will shut off and reboot back into Windows. After Windows boots up again, go back to your sd card. In there you will find a folder named Startups. Within the Startups folder you will find various devices. locate your device, click on the folder and in the folder you will find a startup file. Copy this file and paste it directly on the root of your sd card. After that go to the app named Haret, which is located on the root of your sd card, click on this and Adroid should now boot up. It does take a few minutes, so be patient. Let me know how it goes. By the way, which device are you trying to install this on? |
