Swinn do you know of any nice taskbars that will work? I tried a couple that I have used in the past but the bottom tray (softkeys/start button) gets messed up. I don't think it would be anything on my phone causing it. Thanks for any suggestions man,
Mike

Which ones were you trying? I'm sure there are some 6.5.5 taskbars out there. The only one I've ever used is tsowen's but now I just like the default white. Maybe someone else can recommend one here.

Lord what was I thinking? It must have been very late haha. Well thanks for that, I have one working well now. Another issue...I have lost the use of my red/end call button. I don't think it's just hardware failure, since my long-press function is working. I thought I would ask because I know you have done certain button assignments, since I changed the long-press from messaging to my flashlight program. I went into Raph Keboard and set single-click to default but it still does nothing. It was just working til a couple days ago. Any suggestions?

Swinn, have you had a problem with not being able to answer a call during an active data connection? I do and it's a known problem with the data auto disconnect. I had to change the SuspendResume reg entry to #777. Just curious if you've experienced it.

I might have to wait a couple seconds but it always picks up. If I set SuspendResume to #777 on my phone then if I'm using data then the caller goes straight to voicemail.

Edit: After researching and playing around, it appears that is what happens when you are on a 1X network (my Airave) and using data. I'll set the ROM default to #777 so this is fixed for the majority.

If I set it to zero the data session disconnect as soon as I close the application that need web connectivity.

I deleted it and now it seems to disconnect after a few mins again. Any other ideas?

Try what ziptrx said and change SuspendResume to #777 and change CacheTime to 0.

What was single click set to before you changed it to default? Default is correct. Did you press the update configuration softkey after making the change?

Regarding the data connection timeout or phone answering issue:

HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings

For quick answering and always on data connection:
CacheTime=60 (or any value.. it is ignored)
SuspendResume="#777"

For possible delayed answer when data is on, but allow automatic data disconnection:
CacheTime=60 (or whatever value in seconds)
SuspendResume="" (or anything but #777)

I'm going to set the ROM default to the first, but will provide a cab if you are like me and can put up with a delay but want your data turned off automatically for battery life.

Thanks for this workaround!

Disabling Data Disconnect fixes the added call answer delay I saw with swinnROM over dcd. I'm always in EV.

Only curious, is there a technical reason to leave it in ROM disabled by default instead of removing it from ROM and cabbing it for Autorun to install?

Well it will have to be one way or the other. The current ROM is set so automatic data disconnect is on. The next release of the ROM will have it opposite - data disconnect is off and the phone answers quickly.

I was thinking setting it so #777 is the default would be better since it would react how people are already used to in most other roms. If any prefers it the way I had it so data is automatically disconnected then they can install the cab. But using the data disconnect could cause the answer delay. It would be nice if there was a way everything worked.

I agree, that'd be best.

I didn't mean that Data Disconnect was good or bad, but was just curious if my understanding of your 2 options was correct:

1) Keep Data Disconnect in ROM, disabled by default, enable-able via cabbed reg entries.

2) Don't include Data Disconnect in ROM at all, enable-able via cabbed files and reg entries.

Just tested dcd 2.34 and swinnROM 23554 100403 with only the attached cabs installed.

IE6 works on dcd, but can't load pages on swinnROM. Maybe another MS build issue?

I know of no other way to run logmein.com than with IE6.

I think we are talking about two different things.

The "Data Disconnect" application will stay in. From what I can tell it is only used by the HTC Comm Manager (which isn't included). I put it in the ROM just incase someone wanted to use it for another reason. It had nothing to do with the problems we were discussing above.

The fixes I cabbed up were just those two registry entries. The future ROM builds will have SuspendResume set to #777. If you wanted the data to auto-disconnect then you'd just run the appropriate cab to change those entries. That data disconnect is handled by the OS.

Sorry for the confusion hehe

I have never tried this. I'll look into it.
