I've been looking at the Pre forums and the community seems to suck quite a bit of balls. I'll be sticking around here for sure, if at the least to just make fun of you for turning into NRG :protest:

:) Just kidding, you're the man.

LMAO... That is funny chit.....

Found out my wm 23534 is a bad port.
That is why the email issues.

I have found a new wm 23541 build I am going to port into my kitchen.
Will hold off on update till I get it right.
Should not take long if this build is good.

Excellent! Thanks for working on it Bro! Look forward to the the next flash.

LOL-this build is still so great I'm going to rock it anyway! I can live without my email for a day (on my phone) :)

I agree bro.
That rom is crazy fast.
I have everything fixed here but the email.
Even swapping out the email packages does not fix it.
Not worth the headache to track it down.
Easier to replace the build. LOL

XXXRootRomLS (02/24/10):

Ok, it looks as though once the battery and bluetooth packages are cooked in, and the READING email issue is fixed (or WM build changed), we will have a pretty flawless ROM. Super fast and no crashes or hiccups.

EDIT: Message Tab > New Message > Menu > Add Recipient & Message Tab > All Messages > Menu > New Message > Menu > Add Recipient Both ways ends up with an empty/white contact list. I can click at random on the white screen where the contacts should be and I will get one, I just can't see which contact or which of their numbers I am picking. You can type the person's name in the "To" field, but cannot pick an alternate number to send the message to. Going to WM conacts, or HTC Contacts and texting from there works fine. Have not tried MMS yet.

To fix the contact list when sending a text, use registry editor and delete the following folders:

"HKLM\Security\Contacts\Chooser"

"HKLM\Security\Contacts\PropertyPicker"

On Home screen, pick a Weather Wallpaper, should work fine.

Re: [ROM] ROOTROM - Sense 2.1/2.5 Landscape - SMS/MMS - Sashimi Compliant - Feb 22 2

Is there an easier way to crop pictures for contacts? I have several pictures I want for my contacts, but the problem is it automatically picks the center of the image. So I am left with usually 1 eye, a nose and a mouth of my contact. It doesn't use the whole image. I know this isn't a problem specific with root's rom (happened on ski) but was wondering if anyone here knew how to fix it.

What do you mean email icon?
There is an email icon on the weather panel app on the home screen.

Weather panel app?

Well at the bottom there is Phone, SMS, Phonebook, and Calendar... but nothing for e-mails.

Maybe i'm running the wrong version? I downloaded this one: iRoot02042010_23518

My bad. Was thinking HomeRoot.
The email icon should show notifications.
If there is no icon for it you can add on.

having the wifi radio enabled will of course drain some extra battery. if you look in wifi settings do you have set on the middle option in between perf & battery saving?

settings>wifi-settings>advanced>power mode

you can try adjusting that setting.

are you in a poor reception area like the basement or something that would lessen your signal from the tower which will drain some battery

i've also had best luck with updating the radio in regards to battery life

cool, thanks, i turned it down, we'll see what happens. weird thing is this battery drain is happening while its in standby. like i have it set up where after 1 min of idle it goes into standby and s2u2 locks the phone, so when i hit the power button its locked. When it goes into this locked/standby mode is when i noticed the battery. it was like that for about 30 mins after i unplugged it from the charger, then i picked it up and unlocked it and it was at 91%. Also im pretty sure that when its in that standby mode wifi is kicked off. :\ i dont know.

I was trolling for the new release and figured I'd drop a quick note, if it helps any:

That initial 10% drop from 100% to about 90% is normal. You can't really use the time it takes to go from 100 to 90 to determine battery decay. What you need to do is run the wifi for awhile to get a better impression of how fast the battery is draining.

It's very common to see a 5-10% battery drop like what you're describing...but try monitoring it on a longer timeline - like a few hours to see what's up.

...everything else Drew suggested was spot on. Just wanted to add a note about the initial 5-10% battery decay, since it seemed more like the issue you're seeing.

Stoked for the next release Root...I've been waiting for this one. :)
