Please help

I have an epic 4g that quit operating quickly last week its started to slow down and now its taking up to 2 minutes to load a screen, I know 2 minutes isn't a lot of time but it feels like it while staring at a screen or while your trying to show off something on your phone, I downloaded sysinfo widget to show me where all my resources were going and all it can tell me is my system memory is down to like 884kb left out of 248mb I think. What can I do to speed it up
