Yeah I'm not impressed I am having a few small issues and i still can get my fb sync to work. I don't see the friend stream app either

there are a lot of issues. But to get his hands on this is a task all in itself! he's a perfectionist and is probably working on it right now...

Sorry couldn't help myself... Seriously though I am glad to see that there is a (I assume from his post) leaked version of the Sprint ROM. From the trends in HTC WM phones there is always a leak about a month before the ROM is released into the wild, this would seem to lend credibility to the actual release being somewhere around April 26th as stated in other threads.

Using 2.0 R2 and I have to say thumbs up to Damage and those that helped him. This version of android has gone beyond all others for the hero.

Edit: I have no issues thus far with the new R2 update.

On the first page of the DamageControl page, it says you may need to install friend stream separately. doest anyone know where to find the APK for this?

i won't touch his rom until he fixes everything. he says it's fully functional when it's more like only 50% functional and he gets upset when people tell him to change the thread title. i personally think he rushed this out to the mass becuase he thought he got his hands on the final when it's only a beta. it also screwed up a ton of people phones last night too. a word to the wise, be careful when installing any rom.

i laugh at the thread over there becuase people criticize the op, then he gets mad and they knell before him and kiss a@@. i swear it's ridiculous over there at xda sometimes. these are normal people guys, not gods....](*,)

I have been on the R2 version of his ROM since it was posted and have not had a single issue.

I haven't been going through the threads over on XDA in quite some time, however, to anyone thinking about switching over to this ROM from any other ROM it is important to remember that you will almost certainly have to wipe all data to make the switch onto a 2.1 ROM otherwise you will just get an endless stream of force close messages. (I'm sure that that has been covered extensively... but still its worth mentioning again)

Might as well add in the reason people have been having issues with the sprint leak is because of the pri version they were coming from when flashing the rom. That has been covered in his first post @ xda with the fix.

BTW don't confuse ass kissing with showing gratitude. He is the first to acquire a leaked 2.1 rom that IS fully functional. And yeah i'm very happy with the rom. Its the only one that has EVERYTHING working flawlessly.

Cooks, developers, chefs, what have you all deserve gratitude for their hard work. However, Damage released a sprint rom that has come from someone within sprint. Of course people will be overly excited. No need to rain on anyones parade. Until the official gets released in a couple months, Damage has provided everyone with what they have been waiting for. Do you realize what chefs can now do with this rom?

I would say more but it seems like you already have something against the guy, so its pointless.

im still gonna wait til flipz build on the off the true sprint 2.1 rom when it comes out..not to down the other guys and roms..but flipz never gave me any problems... but i do agree some people over at xda are alittle off...lol

I'm running his rom without any issues. As pointed out, most issues people had were not a result of this rom, they were a result of flashing eris based roms which included changes THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE. IE, you flashed a portion of your device with verizon data. If you want to badmouth something, badmouth the fact they originally ALL screwed up with the eris leaks. This rom is pretty sweet and I support the guy. I just hope there wasn't anything in it to point to the original source... :)

I'm using r2 and alarm clock doesn't work at all. (almost late for work) lol
+ notification LED for SMS/MMS not working either. :scratch:

and my pri is indeed in that list that it "must be"

i guess thats what happened to me.. well should i do back up, factory reset and update.zip then restore? what happened to me was i did back up, update.zip and restore then reboot and FC's everywhere.. will it help if i wipe all or will the restore just cancel that out?

full wipe + dalvik cache. then install v2.0r2. make sure u have a compatible pri as listed on the first post @xda. I would not risk restoring.

I installed this the day it was released and I was coming from the fresh 1.1 rom. I had PRI of 1.70_003.

I did not have access to the protected apps from the market. I tried installing MarketEnabler 3.0.8 and that Didn't work. I was browsing the thread over at XDA and found these instructions.

Maybe this will help someone else instead of having to wade through the 2400 posts at XDA.

I will second that alarm clock issue. My (real) alarm clock went off this morning and I figured I could lay in bed a few minutes longer till my cell phone alarms started going off... but they never did, caught myself but it was almost too late.

I'm not sure if its just me imagining it or not but there does seem to be a little bit of a memory leak with the rom...

Oh don't mind him. He's just pissed off cause I told him where to shove it because he doesn't know how to win friends and influence people, pissed everyone off, and had nothing better than spread negativity over EVERYTHING and on everyone. Nothing good to say at all.

The problems people were having weren't related to my ROM, but to the fact that they flashed Eris based ROMs before which were screwing up.

I did forget to add some wifi files and such in my first release.

Also, I put it out there so quickly because I knew people wanted it. Sure it needs optimization, but people should be happy that they got it.

Also, this isn't just some random beta sometime, somewhere before the release.

I have learned that I can't please everyone, and I really don't care anymore. I tried to make everyone happy by coming out with what I could, but some people just wanted everything all at once, which I can't give right off the bat. People can't just be happy with my best at the time, I guess.

hey guys wm junkie who just swapped to hero i want to root and flash but can i go back to factory defaults still(on the 30 day)trial just in case i returned it..??and is this a pretty reliable or should i just wait for the official update please help me decide..

I confirm that Alarm does not work.

P.S. I found the solution at XDA. You have to remove Sprint_App_Updater.apk from /system/app

My alarm clock works just fine. However I cant sell all applications still. I can see Barcode Scanner, twidroid and, shopper. However, I can't see Mobile Banking for Android (Not the USAA one I can see that one).

I used it all day yesturday and not alot of issues. I have noticed that my wifi is faster use to cap out at around 3mbps and now it caps out at around 5mbps.

Had to use adb to remove it. (thats the only way I know how) but it DID work.

well tried it out.. ran into the problem of my contacts and facebook stuff not syncing. done a few things and no dice.. so nandroid back to fresh 1.1.. til darchvanilla updates ton.. that will be my new rom... vanilla android 2.1.. til the sprint 2.1 release.
