Re: [4-22-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre7][1.0]

I am having problems with the gps not locking on. It locks on for 10 seconds and then looses connection making navigation useless. Has anyone figured a work around? I tried turning it off and turning it on but that didn't work.

Not deck but I've been following this 720p thing. CM7 does not have 720p video recording and the Nexus S does not have 720p recording. I don't think it is something easily done or else someone would have done it by now. It looks like the Nexus S 4g won't have 720p recording either so it might be a little while still.

Can anyone explain a proper procedure for replacing decks SBC kernel with one of the non SPC kernels here?
No problem, I posted up the logs attachments. Key things to look for:

When the battery first reaches 100%, you will notice it is still charging. This is because there is more charging room, especially since I use a 3500 mAh battery. In a standard EVO battery, it will still charge as well as there is still room to charge even at 100%.

You will also notice that it will eventually taper off to between 6ma-10ma and have a consistent pattern.

What happens in SBC is that your phone will do step charging instead of one constant flow. Once it detects your battery to be truly full, it will only step charge charge the amount of energy it takes for your phone to remain in that sleep/standby mode. Think of it this way, it's like someone taking a penny out of your penny jar and you putting it back in. You only put in enough to keep the jar full but never going overboard.

Hope that helps.

As for non sbc kernel just download the one that doesn't say SBC on it:

Re: [4-22-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre7][1.0]

i have one issue with the GPS. not sure if its even an issue with the customized rom, gingerbread in general, or the apps.

when i am using google maps, gps works perfect
when i use yelp, the gps signal is 30 minutes late
when i use facebook the gps signal is 30 minutes late

late meaning, it says i'm at a location i was 30 minutes to an hour prior and wont' update. google maps shows my location exactly where i am at.

Not 720p video recording. (for those who might be confused)

Also, new stock kernel with the proximity sensor fix.

1. Reboot into recovery. I use Amon's recovery.
2. *optional* make a nandroid backup.
3. Wipe Everything.
4. Flash gingerbread rom zip.
5. DO NOT REBOOT YET.
6. Flash gapps zip.
6a. Flash Kernel *if you are using a custom kernel as Tiamat or Savaged-Zen*
7. Reboot.
8. Enjoy gingerbread!

Enjoy,
-deck

If you have already flashed a ROM then follow these steps.
1. download the kernel you want to flash.
2. place the kernel (zip file) on your sdcard
3. reboot in recovery mode
4. wipe cache and dalvic cache (just a recommendation)
5. flash the zip file with the kernel in it.
6. restart the phone.

Now your kernel has been updated.

I hope this helps...tannerj
Hmm. Boy do I feel silly. Thanks for that. I do have a question... so this will essentially "overwrite" the kernel that's (obviously) included with deck's ROM flash?
