Dude...1 of my attempts at getting pre3 2 work was just restorin the app only and still got stuck on Android logo on reboot. I'm now on pre4 and I restored my apps+data and no drama! Woo Hoo! LoL. :-P

Let's c how the rest of the rom is though. Hoping 4 good results...I'll play with it a lil longer and report back. ;-)

Yes...and this is not a Sense rom, it's ASOP. Good advise but not sure what your meaning was in this thread.

Gave pre4 a try and now I got "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." when trying to setup my google account on the phone.

I went into wireless network settings and found that by default the data roaming is not on, turned that on, but still the same problem, turned on WiMax and still no go...

Downloaded the leaked GB rom and updated the PRL and profile, wiped everything (did the GPS fix a couple weeks ago and it's been perfect since). Then flashed pre4 again, and got all the same issues. I wonder if the new radios would have any effect, but I have not seen a flashable zip yet, and don't know how else to load it. (btw, the new rom doesn't seem to fully shutdown - but boots right to home screen less than halfway through the annoying sprint boot animation, pretty nifty...)

Flashed back to RC10, and all is well again, hope to get updated soon though, anything I can do to help, just ask.

When I tried this kernel with Pre 4 my phone just got stuck on the bootscreen.

i have had no such problems myself on both test phones. can you grab me a logcat of the problem? maybe i can get a better idea of what is happening.
i am running 3.3.7 since yesterday with absolutely no problems that i can see so far. Wipe cache and dalvic cache (i use amon 2.3) flash zip. if phone wont boot, wipe cache and davlic cahce again and reboot.
i have no problems with the latest gapps. restores all 14 of my apps everytime. from pre2 - pre3, for some reason, it didnt the first time, but has every other time, it seems that after using the new gapps, the first time it wont restore all your apps, but every time after it will. weird stuff. thanks google!

I noticed the data for both national and international roaming is turned off by default. Is this the same as on the original sprint rom? I noticed my wifes stock evo would use roaming data recently. Does sprint do something to keep stock evos from using a crapton of data?

Deck, thanks for the quick reply! I will gladly get a logcat, just need an idea of how to do that as this is new ground for me. I will try a my wifi connection tonight to see if that will at least let me download a logcat recording app. If that works I think I can delete my google sync settings, turn off wifi, start recording and try to reconnect it on 3g/4g, then stop recording after the error pops up... I'm thinking that's not the best way, but as much as I know, that's the best I could come up with.

Hey Deck, I know this is just a "pre 1.0" release, but I thought I'd test it. Videos still come out as .m4v and not .mp4 - I wanted to confirm if I did something wrong, or if this still isn't fixed yet. Thanks in advance. I'm on the pre 1.0 v1

seems to be the case with mine as well. didn't work with the newer gapps the first time either, but now its working fine.
