UPDATED WITH FROYO-USCC Desire Rom (not mine, but sharing with PPCGeeks)

ALL CREDIT GOES TO blitz2190 OVER AT XDA, THIS IS NOT MY ROM, I AM SIMPLY REPOSTING IT OVER TO YOU GUYS HERE AT PPCGEEKS.

Quote:
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE USE OF THIS ROM, IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE IT THEN YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

IRC Freenode.net #BlitzRoms

Always do a backup first!

THIS WILL WIPE DATA, backup first

This is a rom I cooked a couple of days ago,

What has been Done:

Remove some of the USCC apps(left my contacts backup, Navigator)
removed city id
deodex files
root installed
busybox installed

other than that it is stock 2.1 figured i would share it

Rom Here
APP2SD Rom Here (I had isues with getting wifi tether to work with this one, but others say it works for them)

My Froyo AOSP
*Credits for bravoc vendor files go to teamdesire*
BlitzRom Froyo v0.5 (black bar mod, still a little glitchy but better, camera app removed, 3rd party apps work fine for video and camera)
BlitzRom Froyo v0.6 beta (backlight fixes thanks to defer, still slight light on when locked but has backlight control)
Other Stuff

to get wireless tether working follow these steps after installing rom, i don't know why but this was the only way i could get it to work.(i do not take credit for this as it was told to me by someone else)

get the app from here(easiest to use barcode)
Wireless Tether

then create a folder on your sdcard called android.tether

in that folder place the attached file(after unzipping),and you should be able to use tether now.

Keep an eye out here because i am trying to port froyo to the uscc version, its boots but has no wifi or bluetooth so its not very useful yet.

ROMS FROM OTHERS
I have no control over these roms, and if used you do so at your own risk, the uploader and I will not be held responsible for anything that goes wrong as a result of using any roms supplied here.

crazyhatter 2.2 rom Experimental(no wifi, no bluetooth, no mass storage)
Edit: on a side note if you have a cdma desire rom you would like to share send me a link to the upload and ill put it in the first post with your name so we can make it a little easier for the people here with CDMA Desires to find roms
Attached Files
File Type: zip fw_bcm4329.zip (166.3 KB, 34 views) Click for barcode!

Re: USCC Desire Rom (not mine, but sharing with PPCGeeks)

okay, so to partition your sd card, make sure you have rooted using UNREVOKED3, and flashed clockwork recovery.

TAKE EVERYTHING ON YOUR SD CARD AND BACK IT UP BEFORE YOU DO THIS, OR YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING!

Turn off your phone, Power it on into bootloader (power & volume down). go to recovery, and click the power button.

ClockworkMod Recovery:
Go to Advanced, Then to partition SD Card. I did 512 MB, then 64mb of skip.

From there you can do the adb coding below. Make sure you have busybox installed on your phone.

http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/A2SD

this is exactly the steps i used to get apps2sd running, and i have had absolutely no problems since i started.

Open desire is nice if they could get the backlight thing fixed. it really drains the battery

this one is pretty close to stock. and to be honest, this phone screams along. im very happy with performance. i have about 146mb of phone storage available, and average 250 - 270 free ram at almost all times.

Re: UPDATED WITH FROYO-USCC Desire Rom (not mine, but sharing with PPCGeeks)

so i tried V2, and V3 of froyo AOSP, and its not my kind of rom, I don't like the extreme lack of sense. that's why i got an HTC device. but everything works (except stock camera app) which is better than the Open Desire guy can say. But im sure he will update soon and fix it. plus, im waiting to see how well CM6 is coming along for our device, it shouldnt be too much longer now.
