Ok cool, I think I have a good working EXT now so with your xml files I may be able to get it working nicely. I read the stuff about Mobi and I'd say it wont be long before they change the links you have since they have backed off the legal side of it. But I'll keep looking into it.

Well, when that happened they DID change all the links. But, the way their system is set up they could just replace the path, but once the new link system was figured out all the other links followed because the individual channel numbers are all the same as before. So, these should last for quite some time, since they aren't widely known.

Ok I've got Manila TV cooked in and working! I just need for someone to send me their US channels xml file if they don't mind sharing. All I have atm is Fox and MSNBC. As soon as I get the xml I'll upload the ROM

Out of 7 ROMs I tried, I have decided to stick with this one. Thank You !!
Couple questions:
1. Missed calls/Voicemail Indicator: I see there is small icon on the top for missed calls/vm, I was wondering if there is any other indication, missed calls tab or something like that...?
2. I want my "Home" to be the second page and not the one that comes with HTC standard (with big time clock)... The second page has 12 icons where I can select application, contact, ... I want to make this as my "permanent" home page.. Any way to do it?

Thanks,
-Sam

I have tweaked the list with all channels confirmed working as of today. 130 channels all together. They are kind of sorted by "topic" (i.e. 5 Cartoon channels bunched together, financial channels Bloomberg, CNBC, CNBC World, Fox Business one after the other, all music video channels in a block, etc.)

Only thing I need to know is whether you can cook into "Internal Storage," which is where I have the Coreplayer and Skyfire stored and pathed-to in the XML file. If the players HAVE to reside in main memory for cooking purposes let me know and I'll rewrite the links in the XML file to \windows\coreplayer.exe and \windows\skyfire.exe.

I'll send you the version of Coreplayer I am using. does the PM allow for attachments, or do I need to send to your email address?

To be in line with the same view and orientation that the Manila TV player has as its default for Windows Media Player you have to change two settings in Coreplayer: under "video" choose "Open video full screen" and under orientation choose "Left-handed."

Later,

George

Ill ask around but i'm almost positive there's no way (that we know of) to cook directly to the internal storage. However instead of changing your xml file I could add coreplayer and Skyfire cabs to the internal storage cabs list in the first post. They already have to use that to get Opera and google maps anyways so its no big deal in the relation to flashing. The PM will allow for attachments I think, but if not just let me know and ill send you my email. Thanks for all the help!

Well what you want is possible but prob not the way you think. The home screen is already altered with a Max Manila theme form Maxycy over at xda. There are several different versions that are cab installable and there appear to be some with a call history and voicemail notification area built in. Read through that thread and see if theres one that will work for VGA 2.5 1921 that you like. The other way to to it would be to edit the manila files themselves and all the registry's that go along with them and that's a little over my geek rating at the moment.

Now for the good news... If you can wait a couple days or so (maybe less) I'll have an updated version of my 2.5 ROM out. The new version has the manila Locker which does integrate a missed calls notification on the screen when locked. (similar to s2u2) This version also fixes the email freeze issue and will have Manila TV too, so it's definately worth the wait imo.

PMD, I sent you all the stuff for the Manila TV player portion of your cook. Did you get it all? I sent it via four separate emails. Let me know, if you didn't receive one of them I'll resend it.

I tried it and look good but for some reason after I select all messages for text messages tab, the phone freezes most of the time and I have to soft reset. I usually setup exchange account, switch text to classic mode, sync with myphone and then switch back to threaded mode.

Was using OMJ's rom and did not experience this. Any thoughts?
