Open Total Commander, go to the root "/" directory and choose plugins and then registry. Navigate to the Google directory indicated, create a new folder for googlemaps, enter the folder, click add key to add the two keys indicated.

Just an FYI for anyone on alltel, I switched my phone from a prepaid with .10/minute data to a regular account last week, I'm only paying $10/month for unlimited data, if you own your phone outright (or I guess are out of your contract) you can get the $40 data plan for $10, not many of the cust service people know about it, I was told that they charge $40 when under contract to try to recoup the discounted price they give you on the phone, but if you own the phone, they don't have to recoup so you can get the same $40 plan for $10

not sure if this is true with all carriers, but might be worth a try if you own your phone, or did like I did, moved from sprint to alltel (I was out of contract with sprint so I owned my phone)

heck, $30 savings per month these days = $360/year savings, makes me happy

Just a question about that Lock Screen that was posted recently. Mine looks different than the screen grab. My time is at the top and there's a small slide/tap button at the bottom, that has a tiny number inside that is the total number of alerts (i.e.- one missed call with the following voice mail brings up a number 2). I want to get the row of icons along the bottom with the tape recorder icon, etc and the individual numbers in each category. Is there any way to set these options? I can't find one. Also, after I lock the screen, it seems to change the ring from my custom WMA file back to RingStandard3. BTW- I found OMJ's original ink to XDA. Seems others are having some similar issues as well.

if anyone is interested in a transparent slider for the 2012 roms, here's a cab. thanks goes to jooyyy at XDA.

*** EDIT ***

A few misalignments in the alarm and contact info slider icons but the main home screen slider works perfectly. hopefully someone with a bit of knowledge on this can fix the misalignments.

But that problem is now resolved with those 2 registry entries scmasaru posted above. Of course, you will need to manually apply them (takes 2 mins), until OMJ cooks up a new ROM with them incorporated.

The regedits still did not work for me. I still have to have wifi on for my location or google maps to locate me.

You might want to check and see if the regedits are still present, I've had some that I've had to apply a couple of times for them to actually "stick."

I just switched from an alltel prepaid to regular alltel account, not I have unlimted data, but my battery life sucks, my phone has been unplugged for 2 hours, and I'm down to 70%, with the phone just sitting on the table, I am in an area where I am always roaming so I have my phone set to roam only and to 1x (can't get ev in this area either)

I hadn't noticed much the last month or so because I have left it charging and easy access to charge it, but I started a new job where I can't just plug it in at anytime (not yet atleast, maybe in a few weeks) and each day last week, within 4 hours of being at work I was down to about 20% battery

I recall prior to sometime in January, one of these roms gave me great battery life (with data turned off but my roam settings the same)

anyone have any good suggestions?

I have my email set to check every 30 minutes and the weather is set to every 12 hours (mainly due to having to answer Yes to roaming when it checks)

I guess if it's the constant data connection that is draining so fast, is there a way to turn the data on/off automatically only when it's being accessed

it's been over a year since I've worried about using a data connection, I haven't kept up with anything dealing with it
