Sorry I forgot one more thing. Is there a way to end progams without opening up the task manager. For all the programs that don't have an "X" to close them out I usually have to open the task manager otherwise they'll keep running and use up the memory.

Do you know about the mini task manager in the upper right when you click on the clock?

I use AMeBa to do that. It works well for me and you can also configure it to open a program by holding the start icon (I have it open quickmenu, which I use as a taskmanager to switch between apps, etc.).

Hey OMJ, I brought up the idea in this thread in the past, but that time the discussion didn't really go anywhere, but would it work for a ROM to move all the programs that don't need to be in RAM onto the Internal Storage space, and then bundle a separate zip to be unzipped into Internal Storage when installing the ROM? Then would it be the case that we could have, say, 100MB+ free of Storage RAM post-install or something like that?

The reason I bring it up again is that there's a new ROM out that seems to be using my strategy, and is putting Opera, Facebook, and Google Maps into Internal Storage by default:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96653

Just an idea, but would be super cool if it worked.

Would be even cooler if we could then tweak the RAM settings to decrease Storage RAM and increase Program RAM to make things run better with more caching or something like that, but from what I understand that definitely wouldn't be possible right?

I'll look into it, but worse case, I'll strip out the extras & let ppl install via cab....hell if u use SASHIMI, it's all pretty much automated

Yes, it's much snappier. In my less than 24 hours with the ROM:

(1) I had just gotten used to having 9 tabs available to me on quick launch. This ROM only has 6.

(2) The HTC Messaging client is nice, but the spacing is still a little off. Many times I haven't been able to see what I'm typing as it's below the keyboard.
(part of my frustration with the client also comes from the location of the send button as well - I had gotten so used to hitting the lower left button, which is now "back" that I type a message and hit back when I mean to hit send - this is a user error though, not a programming error)

(3) For some reason I haven't been able to install all of my regular programs - a first for me. Looking at the system settings:

Storage
Total: 49.80
In Use: 47.20
Free: 2.61

Program
Total: 196.26
In use: 119.14
Free: 77.12

But when I get to the market place to install my apps, I get an error that I don't have enough space. Does that seem right?

Otherwise it's been great - sans your snow screen saver....

I have the stocks & twitter disabled by default but there's still 9 tabs.

Hey guys in this latest Beta ROM is there a way to change the notification for a text message. I can't seem to find any option under the Sounds and Notifications.
Thanks.

I'm trying to tract down where in the 2011 sense it's overwriting my default alert for sms, but yeah, go to settings sounds, to change

Call it what you want (RAM or ROM), but I'm getting this error every 5 minutes or so:

--------------------------
Storage Memory

Storage Memory is Critically Low. If the storage memory is not increased, other programs may not be able to start. Use file explorer to delete files that are no longer needed or move some files to a storage card.
--------------------

I've never gotten it on any other ROM I've flashed...

I've done my usual routine (Exchange account, MSN account, Facebook, Twitter, Windows Marketplace) and that's it. I usually also install the Beta of Office 2010 but I wasn't able to with this ROM (but that's not a big deal).

I've installed TouchPal, LockDevice & a self made cab all the main memory & still have 15mb left.

Thanks. I've been tempted for a while but OMJ's been doing such a GREAT job with his packages that I haven't really felt the need to do this myself until this ROM.

After I reflashed, I avoided installing the Office 2010 Beta all together and this has left me with about 19MB free after Exchange, MSN, Twitter and FB were installed and running so I think I found the culprit.

Free: 23.75

Exchange Sync (3.79 MB), MSN Email (0.53), Twitter Tab + Sign in (0.30), Enabling My Location (removing Orlando, no offense): (0.0), Windows Market Place (1.01), Facebook for Windows Mobile + Sign in (1.56), Linking Sense to Facebook (1.4), REBOOT

Free: 19.08

Now, having passed on Office 2010, I love this beta.

cool, more updates coming....amarullz just released more updates, so I'll have another beta soon

I wholeheartedly agree that its a MAJOR waste of time and MAJOR pita. Only after having problems with previous roms do i practice the "flash dance" as OMJ called it. The one time since, that i didn't do the dance, I had problems. But then again, I didn't flash to stock first. I went OMJ to OMJ. Is it user preference or is it standard to flash stock btw custom roms?

personally, I flash alot & never flash back to stock. but there has been a time or 2 where I was having a funky issue, and others were not, where I did a clear storage that resolved the issue.

OMJ, my wife has sprint pro 2, which makes me a jealous man. Esp, since she doesn't use any features or flash custom Roms. TP2 has a sprint navigation tab. How can i add that tab to my diamond running your rom?

ya yaaa that would actually bee nice, id like that 2

what actually appears when u move the slider to the nav tab? whats on the screen at that time? since its wvga we would prob need to port that over to vga. Cant imagine much is involved during that screen anyways tho.
