It's close. Just waiting on an updated dialer and a few other supporting apps. Once I get a stable dialer, I'll resume skinning it.

Yay cool. I really can't wait especially now that I have a keyboard. Unlike some other people (not that they're wrong), I've had more battery life now with this ROM than I've ever had before. I mean, it's lasted me over a day without needing to charge, that's something right there.

That's good to hear. I had much better battery life today with the 85% complete test version I ran all day.

cool, I think the dialer Calc is using does help with battery and stablility. I heard it was actually an older rhodium dialer that was used but none the less, it works! Thanks Gadget for the update. Me wait with anticipation! lol.

Were you considering moving over to PDANet as well?

Newbee here. Sorry.

I'm considering trying this Custom ROM as the first one on my newly purchased Diamond -

I just unlocked the phone based on the tutorial here. All went well.
Do I just flash this ROM on top of the one that is on the phone now? I'm hoping this will improve the speed and the heating of the phone while surfing the net.

BTW, Could you guys tell me how to use the .CAB file for Picture Mail?

Thanks!

personally I do a hard reset on the stock ROM, flash, do a hard reset on the flashed ROM, then proceed.

Nice Rom - Runs fairly stable so far. Just wondering if you've done anything with A-GPS yet. Some of the other ROMs will let you use A-GPS to get an approximate location for My Location within Weather and Google Maps. Any thoughts?

when flashing to a new rom it overwrites the rom currently on your phone which is the stock. Different roms vary in how you like them so you should alwayz keep a downloaded stock rom. if you dnt like the custom rom you flash to then you need to alwayz flash back to stock before flashing to another custom rom.

When flashing ROMs you can use the Rom update utility included in the zip file via Activesync or you can flash from the internal storage via the instructions in the same thread you found the unlock instructions.
Remember, as others have said to keep a downloaded version of the stock ROM.

The picture mail cab can be stored to your internal storage for use after other flashes. All you need to do is run it and install to destination of your choice.

EVERYONE - Is it better to install the pic mail cab to device or int storage?

Hope that helped you, this is my first time trying to help someone else versus asking for it.
