only problem i am having is the Black screen when the camera is activated..

I'm not having that problem. It might be related to the camera drivers in the OEM\OEMDrivers folder in your kitchen.

I'm trying to install this Rom version on a Cellular South Diamond with the stock rom. Each time I try I get ERROR[262]: Update Error. It says that it encountered a communications error during the update process and I have to pull the battery and start over. Am I missing something here?

You cannot flash a custom rom without unlocking the phone first.

Good point. I had checked to see if my phone was unlocked and it said it was but apparently not to the point at which it would allow me to upgrade the Rom :P Installing as I type this!

DCD has carrier cabs for the Titan and Herman.

Will the Herman work on the Diamond?
