I searched for a Sprint Nav OEM for the Diamond and can't find one ... I did find the Touch one in your (rstoyguy) other thread. Is that one OK to use? I figured it wasn't VGA and a lower version number.
Also, I'm using your tutorial in the Vogue forum to decompile and change ROMs. This is gonna give me a heart attack! disreguar. I found it. And now I feel dumb. |

it worked great up until calcu's 3.7 kitchen. if you use it, make sure to deselect all other manila components in the kitchen (clocks, base, etc) Quote:
wish i could figure out what was causing it not to work anymore. |
Re: Custom VGA OEM Requests ....Get them here! Updated 12/22/2008
I've been busy w/christmas and I couldn't get it working on my diamond but only dropped it in and cooked up a rom. I didn't know about the loader then either. I plan to get caught up on things new years day, and then I can start reading my threads a little more often... :)

Re: Custom VGA OEM Requests ....Get them here! Updated 12/22/2008
ooops i probably should have read all the posts in the thread before asking. but thanks for the tip about using it with the 3.7 kitchen. yeah i love the HD manila. plus ever since they made the loader it saves you the 5 or 6 steps needed to launch it. just tap the "tap here to launch touch flo.." and it pops up the keyboard for you and launches it.

Re: Custom VGA OEM Requests ....Get them here! Updated 12/22/2008
Hey rstoyguy, do you by chance have a better or more up to date tutorial for Package Creator? The tutorial you linked here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...age%20Tutorial doesn't exactly follow what I have run into when trying (and failing) to make an OEM. I was using OEMizer but it seems to be more work then what Package Creater seems to be but yet I get two different outcomes from what teh tutorial suggests depending on what cab I am trying to OEM.
As an example, amAzeGPS will open a second window that doesn't follow the "Click on the 7th icon from the left, 'Extract CAB files with original names in a folder'. " Sprint Navigation I think does stick to the 7th icon window. Unfortuantly, there are no screen shots showing what windows are what so ...I am lost. Creating OEM's has so far been my biggest downfall when trying to make my own rom. |

I have an app that seems to convert to OEM ok but when it's actually on the phone, it looks like it attempts to run then nothing after that. You are far more skilled at this, do you mind taking a look at the app and see if it's just me or just not possible to OEM it? It's the app Seven for emails.
FYI if you do try and you manage to get it to run, this version is known to make your phone freeze up on the very first startup. A soft reset will resolve the issue and the app should startup once rebooted and you shouldn't have any more issues. |

OEM_Seven_Mobile_Email_v7.1.5beta..............Seven Mobile Email v7.1.5(beta) Consumer Edition edit: Looking at the OEM again, a way around that would be comment out the line in the initflashfiles.txt that copies the \windows\startup link, and then use UC (usercustomization) to copy the file so it runs on second boot. And check out s4.cereg with notepad, you may need to set it with your deviceid as well.... |
Re: Custom VGA OEM Requests ....Get them here! Updated 12/31/2008
Hey, I just happened across this thread while looking for something else. Has anyone tried your OEM for HTC Home that you have in the second post? I was just looking at it and I don't think it's going to work because HTCHome.dll isn't hex edited for the directory change to \HTCHome, so it'll be looking in \Windows for the images instead.

Re: Custom VGA OEM Requests ....Get them here! Updated 12/31/2008
Thanks rstoyguy! I'll give that a shot tonight.
About Thumbcal, I have this already as an OEM. I can post when I get home if I don't get beat to the punch. I had one problem with it however. If I used package creator, I get an error on my phone when I select the option to change the default calendar to Thumbcal. Actually, I don't get the error until I click on Calendar on the Home tab of TF3D. I get something to the effect that a cert is not valid ir something is missing. If I OEM it up using OEMizer, it functions perfectly. Also, when using package creater, it seems to include an extra setupDLL.dll....maybe that has something to do with it? |

and... For More Info on UC, Click HERE! With the startup .lnk that the OEM installs, well it's really not meant for a post-flash, it's definately a post-.cab install program. the lnk jumps right into setting up the program, and you can't do that when windows is trying to set up your rom. So delete the entry out of the initflashfiles.txt in the OEM and copy that .lnk file post-flash with usercustomization into the \windows\startup directory. It's the only way that I can think to get around it. |

So those .cereg files are post install reg settings? I see then that you added them to the .rgu. For most other OEM's, is that needed? Does that make the app "more fully installed" versus just having the program files copied to the apps directory? As for the UC, I get it now and you are right. When I install with the cab, and it freezes right after installing and I do a reset, the app kicks right back up where it left off. I now understand what you mean by letting UC copy the link. I'll certainly give this a shot aslo when I get home. EDIT: While i am asking questions, when I cook ThumbCal into the rom, I also found the reg settings that allow ThumbCal to be the default calendar. On first start up after flashing, when I select Calendar on the Home tab, it still launches the stock calendar. When I go into Thumbcal's settings though, it does show that Thumbcal should be the default. If I deselect them, select ok, reselect the settings again and then try it, it works. |

.cereg, why have the app installed when you can have the app installed with all your favorite choices? The reason behind cooking roms is so you don't have any setup time! Most programs will let you do this... I'm having a similiar setback with a calculator... I haven't narrowed it down, but I'm gonna nail that sucker next week fo sure! I bet it's in the prov's somewhere... |

And I didn't have a clean rom to make and test the OEM's, so it took a little bit. First I'd like to release a version of neupackageinstaller.zip neupackageinstaller.zip This archive contains two files. 1. Copy these to \My Documents on your device. They must be in the same directory! 2. Take the OEM you want to install, make it a .zip archive and copy it to the \My Documents directory. 3. Use your favorite file explorer and launch neupackageinstaller.exe. Note: This is No2Chem's baby, I made the files available for those wanting to use my OEM's and don't want to flash! :) Pay omage to no2chem, he helped pave the way for us! OEM_ElecontWeather_v1.0.772_VGA.......................... Elecont Weather v1.0.772 (OEM Notes) OEM Notes: - replace the key in the RGU file for your setup. It is well commented. :) OEM_ThumbCal_v1.2.5_VGA...................................... Thumb Cal v1.2.5 VGA (OEM Notes) OEM Notes: - Copy \Program Files\ThumbCal\settings.ini to the OEM and rename it "tc-settings.ini" and it will save most of your settings. - On boot ..\keys\112 is set to thumcal.lnk Both are tested good2go...Someone who uses these wanna verify these are in VGA. :) |
