Re: WM6.1 21042 kitchen

Could you not just OEM into something like "Groove - Startup" ?

Sure, but I have some tweaks in the provxml files too, and then I would have duplicates. I guess I'll just stick with the Calcu kitchen that I know and love for now..

Not if you do it right. The real question is why are you building .cabs into your rom at all?

Re: WM6.1 21042 kitchen

I FOUND IT ... not that it was lost!!

Victor_OEM.rar:OEM_Lang_o409\ScreenRotate.lnk
Victor_OEM.rar:OEM_Lang_o409\ScreenRotate.exe

That seems new.

Best regards,

One is a reg tweak cab. I found that some of the reg entries didn't take with provxml oems, but did with the reg cab. Another is SIP change with a reg tweak that also needs to be enabled after FingerKbd, which is the other cab. I cab install the engine so that the configurator can be run during customizations. I know that the cab installs take up a bit more space, but they are all small cabs, so it's not that much. Also, I like the ability to remove the cabs for newer versions as they are updated, as oppesed to having to build a new rom for a new app version.

You can accomplish all that without .cabs, but sometimes it is easier to just use a .cab. Most of your problems stem from timing issues. You usally have to get a little creative to resolve those.

Question Re: WM6.5 21501 kitchen

Fail + Fail = Win?....

So, with the kitchen update, every time I soft reset, the clock resets itself one hour ahead. And with the new Rhodium Manila, it set resets itself one hour behind. And now the two just cancel each other out.

Best Fail Win ever.

Re: WM6.5 21501 kitchen

I'm consistently getting a file create error when the Kitchen gets to the file \temp\dump\notify.dll.0409.mui.
Won't let me go any further.
Which file is causing this? something I can just unselect or change?
Build log and selections attached.

Taken from another post:

"You selected Rhodium Manila, which is one of the packages in PPCkitchen_OEM_VGA.rar that uses notify.dll.0409.mui. The others are Notification_Enhancement, TaskbarIcons_tsowen 5 v1.6, and TaskbarIcons_tsowen blue. I had to build without any of these to get past this error."
