Aftermarket Batteries

I bought a couple of aftermarket batteries off ebay. It is the perfect size and exactly the same as the stock one, but the phone won't register the battery life remaining. It says 5%, even when it's fully charged on the charger it came with. Also, when you click into the battery page, it says unknown.

Any ideas on how to get the phone to see the life remaining?

Re: Aftermarket Batteries

Simple solution, get an OEM battery it's much safer anyways

I would love to get an OEM battery, but it's 89.00.

Re: Aftermarket Batteries

Yeah, i second that. I bought a battery from ebay for my mogul when i had one and it just fried it, I will never trust batteries that aren't from the Manufacture or from one of the big battery companies.

Re: Aftermarket Batteries

Leanne was the battery you purchased for the Sprint Diamond or the HTC Diamond? I think the GSM Diamonds have a different battery, plus they are 900 MAh vs. the 1350 MAh like the CDMA ones..

That said, I have had good luck with 3rd party batteries for my Mogul in past, but always got the same or greater MAh rating than the OEM. Always got proper battery life readings as well.

In looking at ebay, it does not look like there are any real CDMA Diamond batteries available only the ones for the GSM or HTC Touch Diamond. Probably in future there will be batteries available..

Re: Aftermarket Batteries

It's a 1350 like the CDMA ones.

I had no problems with aftermarket batteries for my HTC Touch, but the stock battery meter refuses to show the proper level. I did discover that if I use a different battery monitor program, it will show the level, discharge rate, etc.

Re: Aftermarket Batteries

I called HTC America and asked about purchasing a battery. Was given the phone number for HTC accessories

1 (800) 229-1235
option #1
option #2

They need the model # from under the battery on the phone- doesn't say model number but after I read off everything printed there she seemed to figure it out.

Battery came to $40.50 plus shipping. Hope you don't ship to Hawaii because shipping comes to more than $20. She didn't know the exact amount.

j.
