For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

First you will need a gsm touch diamond rom or touch pro rom - extract the drivers relating to the fm radio i.e. fms.dll or fminit2.bts -move these file into your oemdrivers folder (replacing the one that are already in there) and BAM done .... I got this to work on a rom I was working on then I got a Touch Pro so it does work however the sound is not that loud.... enjoy

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

Can you post the files... most GSM Roms are blocked from decompiling:(

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

Then why hell Sprint or Other CDMA Provider locked it the way they locked GPS in Mogul.

They still want to sell Sprint TV software and make Customer spend on their data Networks ??????

Did that cab actually work for you?
I've used the files here, and the ones in lenny's thread, to no avail.

Doh! I don't have my headset here at work... :(

Excellent find! Now if there was only a way to get it to work without a headset... reception may be to shoddy though...

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

I think I read in a thread on here (or Sprintusers) that the GSM Diamonds came with headphones that had an FM antennae. But the CDMA headphones do not have an antennae.

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

all wired headphones ARE fm antenna maybe not good ones but antenna none the less.

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

its almost never cost efficient to remove pieces from the board when manufacturing electronics. by the time they changed the setup of their machines any cost savings from not using the part would have been more than blown. just like how you could by the cheapest version of a car stereo and if you were patient enough you could enable most if not all of the high end version's effects. I honestly think it will just be a matter of tweaking the rom and even the TP will have the radio soon.

the TP has the radio hardware for sure.

Re: For Developers ... How To Enable The FM Radio

I installed the FM radio cab. I have the headphones that came with the CDMA telus phone. When I launch the application I get a never ending loading pie wheel that just keeps scrolling. Is there something else I am supposed to do?

It's actually possible that the cdma versions of the diamond and touch pro were manufactured without it in the first place meaning nothing was removed from the board. A good indication that this could perchance be the case is that they sport different designs than their GSM brethren.

Didn't work for me either, never ending busy "icon".
Can anybody else confirm this? After all it's not April yet.

I tried the drivers posted on XDA and and lenny's cab and cooked it into a rom but still got the unexpected error when trying to run radio with my headphones plugged in. This was on a touch pro. Are there different drivers to try?
