yea the base is sprint and that's the important part, the rest can be cabs.

we have tried to cab this up, and it wouldnt work in mighty and juicy, think it needs to be cooked in

it probably had something to do with the fact that juicy and mighty werent sprint base. try installing the cab on JD's

well damn, that sucks. Im still on stock personally didn't see a significant performance gain with any custom roms yet that didn't come from reg edits.

i know, thats why i really would lke this in his new ROM.
did you install the new Radio from the Verizon Pro? it made a difference for me.

Doesn't Juicy and Mighty use a Sprint base when they make a rom for Sprint users?

i thnk so. but i can never get my pic mail to work on their roms. Jakdillards ROM is the only custom one that i have gotten picmail to work on.
and haveing the UPdate PRL and Profile would be great, there is a new PRL for sprint, so i think i have to flash back to stock to get it, istead of just being able to use the Update feature.

Pic mail in general is spotty even for those running stock roms. I am on Juicy 2.5 and mine will work. It's just not as consistant as a text is but I don't believe picmail issues are associated with any rom.

Wonder if someone can look deeper into why these specific issue for the PRL cabs are not working though.

Wow JD your I love your ROMS and you just keep making them better.. I will flash to this one as soon as it is uploaded (coming from your clean version). Thanks for all your work and keep it up Jak!

p.s. For all those who are insisting JD keeps in the update profile/prl files I don't get your point. He is making a clean rom and if you don't like it please don't flame him for it. Besides, what is your need for these files? I never need them and don't see why anyone would.. i might be wrong, but what do you use them for? (if it is for the data connection fix, you can just do that very easily manually.. or is there something else?)

it updates your preferred roaming list so allows certain towers to become preferred and usually boosts your signal in sketchy areas. so it takes a closer tower thats not sprint as priority over a sprint tower that further.

And currently, the only way to update the PRL (without going through hell) is with those two files. It's very difficult otherwise. This is why many people are requesting these specific programs be left in.

Now that teh explination is out, if people are planning to upgrade the rom anyway, it takes little time to install the stock rom, perform the PRL update then flash the new JD rom. I can get the PRL update even if JD and the other guys don't put these files in. It's not like the PRL changes that often and to be honest, new custom roms come out far more often then a PRL update.

have you ever called tech support for a problem on your diamond yet? not on stock rom? the first thing they tell you to do is try the update profile, crap. then telling them it is not there leads them to tell you to hard reset and it should appear, then haveing to play stupid blah blah blah. having these in there is just easier for many reasons.

i just cut tech support off tell them im not a retard and been here done this before, could probably do there job. better. tell them how it is and they usually just line me up for a swap lol

Changing/updating the PRL is not hard at all... All you need to do is dial ##PRL# and enter your msl unlock code(there are many EASY instructions on how to do this) Then all you need to do is browse to the latest prl file, which can all be found for free at this site: http://corolada.com/prl/ and chose ok. Its that simple.. and yeah.. tech support at sprint are basically dumb. I would say 85% of the people on this site can help you faster and better than sprint's tech guys could ever do.

Uploading now .... I actually was able to get the profile and prl updater to work on a beta that I did I just didn't add it because I figured I would hardly ever use it ... I can make a version that does have this but it will be a few days before I get to it so for now I'm uploading what I actually am using

Nice ROM JD! Just loaded this, looks good, but I'm having a problem with Update PRL and Update Profile. Both either give me error code 1012 or "DM failed. Please try again later"

hmm, mine worked great. did you hard reset after the flash? soft reset a few times?
