Re: [UPDATED] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

If I flash the radio, do I have to setup the whole device again or does it only change the radio? I assume the device needs to be unlocked?

YES! also be sure to back up your MIP settings such as aaa/an auth key and such.

their is a possibility that you may have to set up data again.

Lucky its recoverable if data stops working. BUT its a pain in the arse. so. ALWAYS, flahs at your own risk. and back up your MIP Profile data

Since I have no idea what that is supposed to mean I'll hold off until some smarter people than me make this idiot proof...

Thanks.

Thanks.

there is no way to make this idiot proof, ive made it as idiot proof as possible. i gave you a flasher.

MIP settings are your data settings. you can back them up via writing them down.

they can be viewed bu dialing ##778 > input your SPC > then choose Menu > MIP Default Profile

write all those settings down as you will need them incase you lose your data connection.

curious does the radio version change when u flash any of the radios?

also have you tried to hard reset the device?

Yes... the radio version changes... but it does diffrent things with diffrent radios... with the sprint shipped rom it keeps resetting, and with the new Verizon rom it keeps vibrating after the red txt info version screen (where it says touch diamond)

Have you been able to tell yet if the new radio rom is working better? I know you have not had that rom on much but was hoping you might have some indication. You said putting the first Sprint rom on made a difference very quickly.

sounds like your NV is corrupted :( that's a b*tch to fix. one thing you can try is a hard reset after flashing the vzw radio.

otherwise your going to have to Rtask to get the radio back. the bad thing is. if your dont have the MFG boot loader on the device i dont think you can flash the SPL from boot loader. SSPL must be loaded first

Sweet, thanks. With Juicy 2.6 releasing soon, I was hoping to have a good radio rom to go with it.

well i cant say 100% but i have a feeling of confedence this VZW radio is *** loads better then sprints.

sprint has a rated talk tome of 252 min, telus 270, alltel 310 (i want there damn radio!!) and vzw Touch Pro is still unknown as specs haven't been released. BUT the vzw radio appears to be a newer version of the telus 99.90V radio. (FCC specs for VZW touch pro appear to be crippled... at least that's what was submitted and pa ssed by the FCC)

again... this is speculation i have no proof its a newer radio built on the telus radio.. besides the fact that it shares the V part in the rom version. as does telus.

sprint and alltell share the F part in the radio version. so im guessing the alltel v1.03.13F is a newer version built upon sprints rom... so this is interesting... could it have great coverage and evdo with less heat and battery drain. i hope. and i hope i get a copy of it some where, some how.
