Re: Diamond Custom ROMs

I just discovered this forum yesterday and am intensely interested in trying a custom ROM. I have the same question as the op and many other n00bs.

There seem to be a dozen "major" custom ROMs and everyone seems to have a favorite, but there isn't any post (that I've found) that "runs down" the pros and cons of each, or to elaborate on what even makes them different (besides a single app or two).

For example, I'd expect at least one ROM to be the speedster for WM6.1 apps, another to have the best battery life at the expense of features, another to have ALL the apps and features you'd ever want at the expense of size... etc.

Does this exist and I'm just search deficient?

Re: Diamond Custom ROMs

Just to add... in my travels it seems that Calcu and Groove are the most enjoyed ROMs right now. They must have a good mix of features and performance... but those who have tried several of these ROMs would know better.

You need to "travel" a little more....Mike and OMJ have rather large followings as well. Mighty Mike seems to keep his roms on the cutting edge, while OMJ is a tad more traditional and stable. Both guys are very good at what they do, helpful, and quite responsive to questions. There is alot of cross pollination among the chefs, as you will note by the acknowledgments and thank you's to others for their help. My advice......read, read, and then read some more. Lots of people here are willing to help you along, but you really need to invest some time, if you want to "get it". Good luck.

Sorry. 12 year olds can do it, so you have no excuse.

pretty much describes them all. You'll just have to figure out what you like best. Thread closed.
