Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]
I also got the teal theme (downloaded the ROM about 20 minutes ago using the link in the first post). Can anyone point me to where I can download the right theme?

Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]
Alright I'm up for a quick 2.6 review (I might blabber on so it might be so quick):
Installation: Just as easy as flashing any other rom and UC support is a HUGE plus, no more need to re-install everything one by one. Initial installation had zero issues except for the teal bars on the Sprint version, but I copied the HTC Black.tsk theme from the 2.5 ROM before I flashed last night with the early adopters. I posted the HTC Black.tsk theme for all, maybe Juicy should put it on the 1st post for the Sprint users to have easy access to while he tries and figures out how to iron out this VERY minor bug. Speed: Blazingly fast!! The UI is smooth as butter now, animations and scrolling in TF3D no longer stutter as it used to. And it might be a placebo effect but going through my program and settings menus felt faster. Again that sort of thing might be a total placebo effect and also just the fresh ROM install goodness. FYI, I left the Page Pool size at the new stock of 16mb. D3D Driver in Accelerated GAMES: AT LAST!! Our favorite Custom ROM works in accelerated games that use libgles_cm.dll for acceleration. No more white screens! ![]() Audio Manager: The change to Stock Audio Parameter settings coupled with the updated Audio Manager seem to have fixed the random volume changes when making and receiving calls while playing music. I used it all morning during my chores and not ONCE did the volume change randomly like it used to nor did the sound driver stop working all together. This is a HUGE plus for me as I now use my Diamond as my permanent MP3 Player (my Creative Zen Vision:M got stolen ![]() Opera: Opera seems to be good bit quicker in response and load times. Pages are processing a lot faster once downloaded and reactions to clicking on links is a LOT faster. I remember having to tap a link in Juicy 2.5 and sometimes have to wait like 5 or 10 seconds to start seeing movement from the status bar. Now its a lot snappier. Smaller Keyboards: Takes a bit getting used to the smaller keys but I'll take the added screen real estate when the keyboard is up over the larger keys any day. And the change isn't SO drastic that it feels cramped. Juicy already mentioned the slight bug with the .com key in Opera but when he mentioned it I envisioned the key being shifted far to the right over the next key but all I get is little black bar right next to the .com key, nothing to annoying and it doesn't affect functionality one bit. Notification Settings: YAY!! I can finally set these up like I did in my Mogul. I used to leave the "flashing light" option to 60mins for e-mails, voicemails, missed calls and text messages so that I could just quickly glance at my phone with the screen off and see if there were any messages by looking at the status light. Battery Meter: Another big YAY!! I use the FInix replacement battery meter, the one with the percentage on top of the batter icon and the smoother battery icon status bar that changes colors. Now in Juicy 2.6 it actually reads in 1% readings instead of 10% readings. Battery Life: Well, haven't really benchmarked this to much but today I took off at 9am with a full charge and I listened to music in the car (without the charger connected) for about 1 hour, talked for maybe 30-40 mins, used google navigator and google maps with GPS activated for about 5 minutes each to test them, played some accelerated CoD2 for like 30 minutes and browsed my G-Mail, PPCGeeks and XDA for another 30 minutes, synced my Exchange account (contacts, calendar, e-mail, tasks and notes) for the first time and re-synced 2 or 3 times to test activesync over the air, drove back home listening to about another hour of music and I got back home the batter was down to 68% after maybe 3 hours of hammering on the phone. I have nothing to compare 2.5 to but this definitely seems like the battery is behaving much better. It might also be that the Diamond I have is new from yesterday with a brand new battery, I suspected my previous Diamond had a bad battery. EDIT: FYI, I'm using the VZW Radio, not the Sprint Stock. Apps: All the apps I use (wich aren't that many) work just fine with a noticeable improvement in video smoothness in Sprint TV and YouTube. Apps I use: SK Tools Advanced Config SkyFire (the VGA bug is still there but thats Skyfire's fault) SprintTV Google Maps Resco File Explorer and Registry Editor Diamond TF3D Config (I only use the tab options to remove the People tab and reorder my tabs so that when I'm seeing the Home Screen I have SMS, E-Mail, Music and Internet tabs on the bottom without having to scroll to the side, and I also use the programs re-organizer to move my programs around in the Programs tab, don't use Themes nor Tweaks) Google Navigator Power Guard (still hangs on me sometimes if I turn off the screen and let it scan for a bit with the screen off) Sprite Backup Juicy YOU DA' MAN!!! I was gonna start cooking my own ROM but I figured your ROM already does EVERYTHING I wanted a ROM to do, be simple, fast, good system tweaks, most recent system updates, NO BLOATWARE, etc etc... And if this version of your ROM is THIS good I don't wanna see how much better it will get down the line seeing as you are addicted to working on the ROM. Go out, have a beer or two, get drunk and party. This one is good enough for you to take a good break. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by nttdemented; 10-25-2008 at 02:20 PM. |
