Yes, the diamond unlocker.exe file is all by itself in the diamond unlocker folder that is created when you extract the RAR. If I run it from there, it creates those other files then runs the ruu. If I remove the .exe file to the desktop and run it from there, it doesn't create the other files.
Either way, the ruu stops running with a 202(connection error) and when I click on exit, those other files are removed from the folder. But I know I have a good active sync connection the whole time

Have you tried disabling "Enable faster data synchronization" in the USB to PC in settings?

There's only one file after the rar is extracted the diamond unlocker.exe. when I double click on that, it puts all those files into the folder then starts the ruu no way to get rid of those files before the ruu runs. are you saying to remove the exe from the folder and run it from the desktop?

Yeah you need to take all those files out of that extra folder created when you unrar and put them in the root directory on the desktop. Sometimes it won't run when it is in a folder inside of a folder. I hope that makes sense.

OK, I clicked on the RAR file to open it--it extracted to a diamond unlocker folder with one file in it the diamond unlocker.exe double clicking on that creates a slew of other files in tht folder and then runs the RUU which never really starts. This is from a new d/l of the rar.

ok, this will work I think, When you run the Unlocker.exe after establish active sync connection, check the screen of your Diamond, it will ask for permission to enter bootloader, click yes. I think it goes away fast so be sure to select yes. if you did this, sorry but that might be the reason. afterward this, follow the onscreen instructions on your desktop. hope this works.

weird..I guess I would suggest re-downloading the unlocker and try again. Should be a simple, flawless process. Just sync, run the unlocker, and 30 seconds later you're all set. Good luck, bro.

The unlocker need to be unzipped in winrar on the desktop. Make sure the files are at the top level of the folder. Not in that other folder it will unzip into.

How about we take this whole discussion into another thread so that this amazingly long thread doesn't get needlessly longer.
This thread is definitely more appropriate.

Seriously people.
Take it somewhere else.
Don't make us ask the Mods to get rid of this.
This is why we have seperate threads for these things. This has NOTHING to do with this thread. And I'm not even sure that Stoney60 isn't just trying to pull y'alls legs. Says he has an HTC Touch, not a Diamond. Doesn't know where the reset button is... come on. He shouldn't even be trying this stuff at this point!
