My screen does not shut off during a call which makes me think the light sensor does not work or is not set to be sensitive enough. The registry edit for this which was just mentioned wont work for me cause it says to set it to "1" but I looked and mine is already set to "1".

Also I noticed today my custom ringtone was reset back to default. I set it back so no big deal but just an FYI.

Thanks Mike for still looking into these issues even though you've moved on to another PPC.

I echo this as my only issues with 4.2 this is an awesome ROM!!

I knoe it's not a "fix" per say but you can use the d-pad to scroll down the page just not the touch screen.

*** EVERYONE HAVING THE "NO RING" ISSUE ***

Let's see if we can eliminate Bluetooth as a contributor to this by performing the following:

1. In Communications, turn off Bluetooth connectivity
2. Perform a soft reset

If this corrects the issue long-term, then we are back to the Bluetooth issue that is NOT ROM-specific (as reported in other sites/forums by users of stock ROMs).

Cool, although I never used bluetooth on 4.2 and still had the ringer issue. I think it is set to off after flash and needs to be turned on.

I called at least 8 times in a row and only 2 ended up showing as missed calls on my cellphone. This occurred when I called my cellphone from my home phone (lan line). I tried flashing several times but it only went away finally when I flashed back to the shipped rom. I tried another custom rom but the same thing occurred. Both roms have the new s2a feature. However, when I tried calling my phone I got this message:

"the caller you are trying to reach is not available at this time, message 2, switch 147 (not exact but close)"

Funny thing is I tried calling my phone from my wife cellphone and it went through fine. Also, Sprint did a test call as well and it went through. After flashing back to oem, I flashed 3.9 and currently I am not having any issues with calls. I just wanted to see if anyone else is getting a similiar message when they try to call their phone?

Update.

Just got a follow-up call from Sprint letting me know that there was an outage on their end which caused me to not receive certain calls. So it appears this may have something to do with the my problem yesterday and it probably affected others but no way of telling for sure. Just wanted to let you know.

My bluetooth has been off since flashing to 4.2 and I'm having the same "no ring" problem.

I'm usually set to vibrate so I didn't even realize the problem until I checked in here.

Other than that, I love this ROM!

I went back to 4.1 and installed Juggalo's White Slide To Answer cab, and the no ringer problem reared its ugly head again. I've removed it and we'll see if that was the problem tomorrow.

Anyone using 4.1 and the white s2a able to report on the issue?

Ok, so I had 4.2 and the no ringer problem -- went back to 4.1, installed Juggalo's 4.1 Juggalo's White Slide To Answer cab and still had the ringer problem.

I uninstalled Juggalo's White Slide To Answer cab last night and the ringer issue hasn't cropped up yet. So I'm pretty confident that my hypothesis that this has something to do with the new *white* phone canvas with the slide to answer has legs.

I haven't tried the black s2a cab and don't plan to as I'm happy to be able to hear my ringtones for now.

Keep up the good work mightymike!

P.S. I never use bluetooth.
