Please report, that doesn't sound right.

I did not have a "my ringtones" and I had to manually install it. I posted this find a long time ago, but it must have been buried.

My Documents\My Ringtones is an empty folder, so I can't quite understand on how that would cause ringtone problems.

People are reporting ringtone loss with 4.7 (Briggs has been on it since launch and has not experienced this issue)

My sister is on 4.8 & does not experience this problem

My friend is on 4.9 (unreleased & just a test rom based on 4.8 complaints) and does not experience this problem

I don't know what to tell you guys, but there isn't an issue.

Mike,
When I flashed 4.7 I did not have a "my ringtones" folder in my main memory either. On the last two roms I have had to install it manually.
I can also say that I personally HAVE NOT experienced my phone not ringinging. I keep my phone as close to your releases as possible, the only mods I have made have been LilRico's theme, and a custom task bar. (not T.S. Owens) and I have had no problems with 4.8 at all. I think it is as good as 3.9 was......maybe even better.
Great work Mike!

I flashed stock rom
hard reset
flash 4.8
hard reset via clear storage

I have not had a no ringer problem until last night and this morning. I looked at the phone and I had 3 missed calls this morning. I did a soft reset and the phone has been ringing since.

I didn't flash to stock but i always do clear storage and use Sashemi to install apps and settings. Only had the no ring problem with 4.8 and the only other mod was the 1 st page taskbar, now changed back to my previous favourite taskbar.

P.S I have 5% battery left and it's still ringing

I'm having the "no ringing" problem as well, I don't have any "My Ringtones" folder. I've always had the "no ringing" since early builds of 4.x (maybe like 4.2 or 4.3 or something?)

I always set my ringer to be "vibe then ring", not sure if this could be the reason why some people hit it and others don't. I could try putting it on regular "ring" and seeing if that helps.

Just thinking about what could make the ringer stop working, what about the "mute ringer" accelerometer gesture (ie turn your phone on its face while ringing)? Maybe the driver for that is falsely triggering mute, I wonder if there's a way to disable that gesture.

Hi, I'm new here. :)

I love 4.8, but unfortunately I too am experiencing the silent ringer. I'm an ancient Juicy user attempting to jump ship to something a little more modern since Juicy has been abandoned. I first flashed to the Sprint Shipped ROM, then to 4.8. Hard reset twice. The only extra thing I've installed is SlingPlayer, that's it.

My ringer worked fine the first day, and today, suddenly no ringer. I created the 'My Ringtones' folder, but no dice. I did notice that my ringtone automatically reverted itself back to 'Ring-Innovation'. I did a soft reset and switched back to my preferred ringtone 'Ring-Standard', and now I have a ringer again. Who knows for how long though. I'll keep an eye on it.

Hopefully we can resolve this because it's a complete dealbreaker--I simply must have a phone that rings when somebody calls, above all other bells & whistles.
