I had to go back to 4.1 as I had major problems with YouTube. I had a lot of my saved videos and lost those with 4.2. History would lock up phone and I was getting endless "cannot play video" dialog boxes. Sometimes the video would play but no sound. 4.1 works great and I got my favorites back! Not sure what happened to the updated version on 4.2 but it was enough to make me go back to 4.1.

EDIT: By the way I did delete my YouTube temp folder from the Internal Storage and still had the problems.

my youtube wasnt working either.. ran a hard reset and it started working.
i'm trying out another rom now and youtube isn't working on that rom now.

my activesync still doesnt work on any 12043814 rom's i've tried lately!

Noticed I couldn't pull up Dell's website, kept getting an OPENDNS error, then found that the DNS settings were hard coded. I reset it back to auto. But I'm wondering what is the advantage of using the Opendns that Mike has hard coded in?

Since i brought up the topic it seems as if at least 5 4.2 users that i counted are having this issue...Anyone else having this issue? Are have a resolution "besides turning off bluetooth"..A soft reset does fix issue, but no sound and it defaults back to original ringer shortly after.

I know you have stated you have tried different ports, uninstalling and reinstalling wmdc, etc but I haven't seen you mention if you tried a different cable. I had this problem once and it was a bad cable.

that crossed my mind as well, but it's not the cable. it works as a disk drive, and mobile device center synced my touch.

when i went to sprint leaked rom it displayed the error. thought i saved it to my internal storage card, but i guess not. and now i can't recall what it said.

Hmmm, do you have another pc you can test on? There could still be a corrupt driver for the Diamond on your pc and it isn't getting removed or overwritten.

i have an xp computer.. it seems to have worked on there, but i dont have outlook or anything on that computer.
and my laptop is loaned out right now. i have a new computer in the mail.. i'm hoping it magically starts working when i get my new computer.

I know for me, using the Windows 7 beta, and also Vista, I have to go to start, settings, connections tab, USB to PC, and uncheck the enable faster data synchronization box on the phone. If I don't do this, my computer will not connect. Just a thought.........

i've tried that as well. it shows for a second that it connects. then just disconnects. i'll see it show in windows mobile device center DIAMOND for like a split second. or when i have explorer open i've been able to navigate into it for 2 seconds and it disconnects..

Very strange. Hopefully someone will come along with some knowledge on this that will be able to help you. All I use anymore is bluetooth to connect. Alot easier for me and no cables....Yeah

Yeah, ty a different USB cable. It happened to me when I tried using the USB cable from my Touch. Then, I switched back to the one came with it and it worked just fine.

Yeah, I bought two of them. One for my laptop and one for the wife's computer. I think I got them at Office Depot for like $25 each. They are really small and don't get in the way of other USB cables and such. If you ever go that route, you won't go back to the cable. Although I find that there are times, like transferring loads of music, where it is faster using the cable. For everyday functions though, I never use my cables anymore.

my phone was actin up and i soft reset and it got stuck on the touch diamond screen...so i had to go all day with no phone till i got home because i couldnt figure our how to hard reset... dammit.. well it wasnt so bad cuz i watched football all day anyway.... but anyway anyone kno why my phone got stuck on that screen i had 4.2 rom and that never happen anytime before... any suggestions ?

No telling really, I have been using MightyROMs since about 3.6 and have yet to have any issues. I love this guys work!! I tried a couple other ROMs, but none ran like these that I could see. I just hope that he will stay with his word and keep us Diamond junkies up to date with future releases.......................{fingers crossed}

Did you try pulling the battery to see if that helped??

K I ran into two problems today:

1) Ringer reset itself. No biggie, I changed it back and it is still OK.

2) While texting (I installed Touchpal 3.5) the phone froze for a minute and then was extremely slow afterward. I had to soft reset to fix.

Yesterday, the screen turned white/black (like TV static) for a minute after I woke it up and then went back to normal.

Hey Ill...Try this:

Turn off your phone...
Remove the battery for at least a minute.
Plug it back in, then reconnect your USB cable to your PC.
See if Active sync detects your phone.

I just tried it right now because I wanted to try a diff. ROM.

Have you tried connecting in disk mode to see if it will hook up that way? If it does, I would say it would be a problem with the program on your computer. Try to uninstall the program and reinstall to see if that would help.

I have IPC black dialer & Juggalos black slide to answer installed.
So you are saying I dont need the IPC dialer? I looked at that thread and I only see a black slide to answer cab. not a "new cab that changes phone canvas and the dialer." Does the black slide to answer cab really do both?

mike - i have problem with no ring tones when people are calling. I assigned a certain one and it doesn't assign it for some odd reason.

Yea im trying to figure this out along with alot of other users "and alot of users want know this is happening till they realize there getting missed call. But anyone who built a new Rom using parts of the new Sprint leaked Rom, from what i gather is causing the issue. Default ring, then no ring....Soft Reset will work for now, but it will happen again.

Also seems as Microsoft Voice command announce all calls is broken...?

Is your gmail issue with imap? If so, here's how I worked around it:
1. allow it to auto detect settings.
2. as soon as it does, go back a screen and de-select auto select.
3. move forward, the settings will be there, but you will now have a choice on the pop/imap screen.
4. choose imap, and keep moving forward.
5. you are done.

Hey, I just updated to 4.2 yesterday, no problems except dialer minor issues, left the phone charging overnight, this morning i glanced at it, it was fine so i used opera and went to settings, there was an error. Naturally i just soft reseted and windows mobile reinstalled on the same phone, basically i have to versions of windows mobile installed, ( two calenders, two phones, ect...) any suggestions?? Most likely im going back to 4.1 because it was runing much stable. for me i think.
